OK...here goes. I scored a BRAND NEW in the box factory upgrade shock in Daytona a couple of weeks ago. I have been working on my 99 X-1 today (new tires!) and finally got the new shock out of the box and looked it over. Everything is in the box and all looks new. It has the mount to change the long shock to the short version. The kit says it is for all 95-2000 Buell motorcycles and the only thing I can find different in the instructions are that shocks themselves are different for each model. K0431.9 fits s1,s1w,x1,m2. K0431.M fits S2, S2T. K0431.B fits 97-98 S3, S3T. What exactly is the difference between each of the shocks?? Is it just spring weight? Basically I am asking if I will notice any difference on my X-1 if I have the shock for an S2-S2T.. Thanks in advance. |

Likely a difference in spring rate/weight, more suited for two-up/touring being for an S2. Depending how much you weigh all geared up, you might like it alot or not at all!! And by that I mean min/max, so if you're say 100lbs w/gear or say 300. if you're 175-225, somewhere in the middle, it may not be that noticeable a difference unless you're very in tune with your bike. |
