So i started my X1 up yesterday after being in hibernation for a couple months and i hear a rattle coming from the exhaust. well after probing around and listening i found it. Hard to explain but its the rubber grommet/bushing that sits in the mount around where the header and muffler meet. I have the buell race system. i will upload a pic showing location. (the bike in the pic is not mine, just found it on google). its rattling in there and need to replace that rubber piece. anybody know where i can get it?

Now would be a good time to upgrade to the Y-shaped front exhaust mount. Check w/Al at american sport bike |

I would think that the rubber grommet MIGHT be available at the Harley Dealer yet?? All aftermarket exhaust systems probably utilized the same "Factory" mount....??? Try them once....... |

Nylon or teflon seem viable materials to use if you have a lathe available. The beefier yoke in the upgrade kit is a better idea. |

This rubber bush/grommet was discussed about 6 months ago. TM had some and so did some dealers IIRC but with an older part number. I'm with Kilroy, get the wishbone whilst you can. |

I tried the search feature, with no luck.... What is this "wishbone" mount that thee speak of....???? Is this for just this particular exhaust system, or ALL of them??

I made mine out of an old heavy duty mud flap. Just happened to have the right size hole cutter and some wide area washers and they have been working great for the last few years. |

I ordered exhaust bushings from an H-D dealer online, reasonable prices too. Latus H-D if I remember right |

i was able to fix it. i had an old rubber exhaust hanger in my garage and the inside hole and thickness was the perfect size already. just did some trimming for the OD and it popped right in. works perfectly. |

Twin Motorcycles had these in stock last year, I bought several sets and sold the extras to try to reduce some shipping cost. |
