Nitrojas, In the quick board archives dated Nov21,2003 you'll find a thread regarding the S2 signature series, and most of the Badweb buellers that either have their covers, are looking for their covers, or have a spare cover looking for it's owner, are listed there. I have a spare, #385, have #815 for my snap red S2, and am looking for #1127 for my sapphire blue S2. I am still unclear as to how many series there were, I think 3. FireManJim seems to be the man to talk to about that. The kit has the certificate, and a timing cover. Here is a copy of the list you'll find on that link: # year/color name Status 20 Ice white pearl Ferris have 36 95 S2 FireManJim have 36 96 S2T JoshA spare 52 Kaese have 76 Henrik looking 89 CareyJ have 133 popchevy ? 197 PearlIceWhite 95S2 MikeJ looking 258 firemanJim looking 294 court spare 298 court spare 321 parkway blue S2T Kevyn looking 371 Hoser looking 385 Bartimus spare 396 96 S2T Simond have 487 BuellieDan spare 549 Ron Dickey looking 595 Rex spare 700 Phillyblast ? 714 Dave looking 813 SnapRed S2 Bartimus Have 820 Rex looking 834 BlackSapphire Tbolt834 ? 924 popchevy ? 935 popchevy ? 1013 Sapphire blue S2 Bartimus looking 1127 95BlackSapphirePearl Buellerthanyou looking 1164 BuellerThanYou Spare 1178 95 Parkway blue bluzM2 looking Once again, if the info is wrong, or you are not on the list, email me. Josh and M1combat, The forearm has two bones in it, the Radius and the Ulna. The Radius is the shorter and thicker of the two bones and is on the same side of the forearm as the thumb. It is more common to break the Ulna as it is thinner and is frequently the first thing to hit the ground in a fall. |

So I just go off the phone with Bub's and the details are still a little fuzzy. Thye are working out categories, rules, classes and such... BUT several things stuck out in my mind, Prize money... $10k to the fastest bike $5k to the fastest American V Twin $5k to the fastest Metric V Twin $5k to the fastest per cc and more prize money categories to come. sooooo, anyone have a Suzuki TL or Aprilia Mille they want to gear to the sky and go fast? Or say... a Buell? Something that could tickle 200mph? I see them having MAJOR problems with this. They are gonna have a TON of rule conflicts, tech inspection problems, protests... Things get kooky when cash gets involved... |

Fastest per cc? Hmmmm 200mph w/ 1203cc = .17mph/cc 100mph w/ 50cc = 2mph/cc 50mph w/ 50cc = 1mph/cc I'm thinking some little 25cc screamer is going home with $5K. |

Are they doing the 130 and 150 mph clubs, or only speed records? |

I did some talkin to Bub's yesterday... The event will NOT be SCTA-BNI-USFRA sanctioned. They WILL have AMA and FIM sanctioning, and have FIM stewarts on hand to certify world records (I guess the owner of Bub's is going to shoot for one). They are still working out the prize money/classes/tech inspection/rules part of this. I'm betting they are in it deep and dont know it yet. They have entered into a morass of rules, specs, protests, how much streamlining, how low/long/short/high/enclosed/open and such, and THEN thrown prize money on the line. It gets sticky enough when there are only "club" records on the line for SCTA-BNI-USFRA. There are a couple more prize categories, and they are cooking up even more. Yep, a 50cc bike would be the thing to run in the speed/cc class. 50cc records are in the 80mph area, nothing else can touch that as far as speed/cc. No 130 and 150 clubs, but there will be a "run what ya brung" type class as well (with prize money for fastest speed there). I dont think they have thought this one out very well. I'm betting they are counting on cruiser type bikes showing up, and NOT superbikes capable of nearly 180mph off the showroom floor. But, if there's money on the line, someone with a Blown Busa, ZX12, or GSXR1000 will come out there and want to run. |

Try Orange County HD/Buell (949)727-4464 They might still have one. You may not like the price. |

Chop you are right, this has the potential to get real ugly real fast. The existing groups have worked out rules and procedures over years and years. They have done it in a pretty low key setting among friendly competitors (mostly). I am sure they can pull off an event. How much fun it will be for participants remains to be seen. |

>>>Chop you are right, this has the potential to get real ugly real fast. Riding a motorcycle is fun. Land Speed Racing, in addition to fun, entails some serious business and risk : benefit analysis. It's that whole cubed function thing. I wish them well. |

I wish them well. I coldn't agree more. We may be selling them short. They may have people with experience working on this and the whole thing will run well. |

Tat's red 95 S2 came with the purchase of American Sport Bike. It has a signature series cover that says: "95S2CA 46/86" I assume that this means it is the 46th 95S2 that came into california, and that 86 total S2's came into CA in 95. True? |

Hmmm. My "1996" (per DMV Title and Registration) S2 came with Buell Thunderbolt Signature Series 1995-1996 Timing Cover which states 95S2CA 34/86. Color is Black Sapphire. I believe it was sold "new" in 1998 by Glendale Buell. I guess that puts me in line behind Ferris. Whatever. Not sure if the prior owner gave me a "certificate" or not. I'll have to check. Don't recall one. Oh yeah, did I mention that I really like the bike? Jim in Santa Barbara |

>>>>I assume that this means it is the 46th 95S2 that came into california, and that 86 total S2's came into CA in 95. True? Not necessarily so. Let me see if I can dig back, get some info and fill you in. There were no LEGAL S-2's in CA until 1996. Ed LAw (the one that just sold) brought one in that was "gray homologated", but Buell dealers were not allowed to sell them. Court (who also owned a RED 1995 CA S-2 with the Quick Silver carb) |

>>>Hate to rain on your parade,Court, but I bought my CA S-2 w/Quiksilver carb in july of 1995 at Vallejo HD/Buell. I'd buy that, they were legal, after a year hiatus in CA by then. It was about a month later that Erik and I sneaked away to a breakfast with Mr. Steve Anderson to see (we were not allowed to touch or read it in muhc detail) the article about the bike we'd introduce the next day, the S-1 Lightning. The story of why no S-2's during the first year makes one of the GREAT Buell stories and brought the name Ed Law into "The Book of Buell...some luck, lots of love". The day you bought you bike, I was on the way to meet Joesph Gaspard, Lorain Sturges and spend a day on Canfield Road (can you beleive it) letting nay-sayers take my S-2 from Mother's to the Observatory. I live for this stuff! Yes, you could well have bought a legal S-2 by July 1995. Court |

They may have people with experience working on this and the whole thing will run well. I heard somewhere that Dennis Manning (the owner of BUBs) has had a little experience with LSRs. Something to do with Streamliners or something. (Typed with tongue firmly in cheek) |
