Joe Perry, the firebolt whls/front end looks fantastic on your project. thanks guys for the good words, i consider this a BadWeb project bike as so much info and ideas and tech help comes from my friends here. Bigsherm9r the headers are 000 and then 0000 steel wool polished only with flitz metal polish. they will get gold again soon as they go through a few heat cycles. I did powder coat my Daytona Boss Race can. Not sure how long that will last, the collector looks like it gets hotter than 400 deg but its a try. Roadrunr look here. www.velocitystix.com/lfmc.htm http://www.firehorsegraphics.com/kitsvehicle.htm they are a heavy 3D medalion. I burried mine under 6 coats of clear. People always walk up to the bike and rub the tank. Its funny to watch. I like the look under the clear and it helpts to protect them.. lots of bugs in fla |

Thanks Donn. I also got that extended shifter perch from Banke..it really helps me get to the shifter without having to fish my foot into the slot between the primary and the Grand Prix bodywork on bike #2..will have pics of that bike soon..here is an idea of what it will look like. |

Caught on tape... This is the first Buell I ever rode. The owner and rider in this pic is the one that got me hooked on Buell. This is a sweet '99 S3T. My sister is the passenger and his wife. They left for their honeymoon on this bike, hence the pic. Sorry about the quality. It's all I got, but, I figured I'd show who was responsible for my perma-grin...

I finally got the Molten Orange/Nuke Blue Bike I wanted, when I had it apart, I thought it looked pretty good without the fairing. What do you think? You can see more pics here edited by mbsween on February 10, 2004 |

1320, woah that's quick!! Congrats, hope next season is even better! Glitch, that brings back memories of my own honeymoon on a '92 Sporty. Lake-of-the-Ozarks area, it was a blast! Sween, looks good! I definitely like the orange better than the previous white. Personally I like the X-1 better with the fly screen in place, but I've always been a nut for the cafe look. |

Tres_Wright, Re: your Force Megaphone- I welded the optional Force baffle in my pipe after I realized I wanted it permanently subdued. It just takes the edge off of the noise, but did not seem to hurt it on the dyno. It is still very aggressive. Incidentally, there is a ceramic coated Force baffle on Ebay currently at 10 bucks. Great looking bike! |

Thanks Doug, I appreciate it! I was concerned the baffle might impact the power, glad to hear it doesn't. I'm not looking for it to be super quiet, I just hope it cuts it enough to where my ears aren't ringing after a long ride I ordered a Corbin Gunfighter saddle yesterday, black basketweave seat panel with dark grey rear panel and medium grey flamed insets. Hopefully the flame contrast will be subtle and go with the ghost flames on the paint. I was surprised that even adding the flames and 3 colors of material the price doesn't change! edited by tres_wright on February 11, 2004 |

Tres, do you know how a corbin handles rain? This is my first seat from them and since its leather, I was wondering if will soak thru in heavy rain. And as to the fly screen, you're right the more I look at it the more I like it on. its just a hell of a lot of orange when viewed head on. |

This is my 3rd Corbin, but I'm a nut for the basketweave and that's only available in vinyl, so I have the whole thing done in vinyl. The leather is cool though! I found this on their FAQ page, it looks like it answers your question: ======================== What happens if my saddle gets wet. Don't panic, water won't damage your Corbin saddle. Corbin covers are extremely durable and are weather resistant too. However, the stitching in the cover allows for water intrusion! If this happens, your behind will probably get wet a couple of the times as you squeeze the water back out while sitting on the seat. The solution is to let the seat dry out in the sun. To assure that your saddle's cover retains it weather resistance, we recommend conditioning your seat on a regular basis with CorbinCare Leather, Vinyl & rubber cleaner & protectant. You should condition your seat at least as often as you wash your bike. In the case of leather seats, we strongly suggest a regular coating of a good silicon based leather conditioner such as Corbin's Saddle Cream (do not use cleaners or conditioners with a petroleum or kerosene base). This will help the leather to stay supple and keep it looking great! Rain covers are also available for motorcyclists who spend a lot of time in the rain or for bikes that are stored outdoors. TIP: Remove your saddle from your bike when washing it, especially if you're using a pressure washer. ======================== If you don't like that orange fly screen, get the carbon fiber one! Pictures don't do it justice, it really dresses up the front of the X-1 |

It's nice to see some interest in the X1's come back to this site. Tres-wright, great looking bike. Shoot us a picture when you get the seat. It should look mega cool. |
