Just did the FatVM . .. nice. I stuck about 4 more things on Henrik's bike today . . gotta know what's going on. FtB. . . thanks for blazing the trail. I'm curious to see who, at Buell, has the tiny finger to put the small nut, nearest the steering pivot, on. I used a long extension magnet and some language I learned in the service. I wanted to put silicon around the wires into the housing to seal them and didn't have any around. I cut a sponge type earplug in half, compressed it and stuffed it in the hole. Great work FtB. Ben and I mocked up your relay delay (rev 2) on the breadboard last night. Appears to be working well, but I want to add some hysteresis so if it drops out it waits a few seconds to cut back in. |

FtB . . . where did you connect the voltage monitor? Bill: Henrik will be using this bike a lot so make it as perfect and as hysterical as possible. I tossed the PIAA wiring harnesses and made my own . . . damned impressive I might say! |

yes, i'm posting in a thread that has been in a coma for the last 5 years. but this thread is friggin great an is very searchable. it seems to be the origional thread that others will refernce, so maybe my post will help some body out. i ordered mine from ebay. signal dynamics still has them on thier site, but they charge a few bucks for shipping. i followed Ft B's pic-strucions and only have some enhancements to contribute. ~ stick the box about an half inch from the port on the back of the IC, not right next to it as pictured. i had some interference with the conrtoll switch wiring. ~ you can take the IC out of the module with the bottom gromet and nut still attached. that 5/16 nut is hard to reach, but IS doable with a magnet and 'words of encouregement' as previosly mentioned. other than that i soldered the wires into the back of the plug for the 12v outlet. red to red, black to black and yellow. pretty slick, i know. of course i had to re-solder it cuz the wires need to be routed and soldered with everything installed it looks fatory-esque .... and nobody will ever see it |
