For those that have replaced their intake seals with James seals I have a question. There is a lip on the James seals I ordered from DK that fits over the end of the intake, the ones that came off did not have this.   I am having issues getting the intake to slide fully to the primary side to get the bolts started on the right side. Do I have the correct seals? Thanks Ken | ||

yes they are correct, i had issues, also so i went back to stock ones if they lasted 50.000 kilometers before the shaft broke i suppose they will last as long as the old ones. | ||

In order to fit the James rings you must remove some of the material on your throttle body. Measure the machined area's length. Take 1/32" off both sides with a file and try to make it as even as possible. Try it again. If it's still tight take off some more. These seals help keep the throttle body centered and they do work well, you just have to make room for them. Lubricate all the surfaces with a lubricant. Silicone based is best but hylomar works well too. Don't use grease or an oil based lube. Tighten the flange screws a little at a time pulling the flanges down evenly. Should be good. |
