Just curious. Do you guys think a fully prepped 1190RS would be competitive in the Super Bike class at the Isle of Man TT? Why or why not? (Message edited by gregoxb on March 11, 2013) |

No........... Not yet. If you look at the bikes that the 1190RS would have to race against they are pretty much fully developed for racing at the IOM, but are basically WSB spec in terms of engine and chassis develoment. They are then modified to take the strain and punishment of the TT circuit. Bikes are flat out for long periods of time on the island and average lap speeds are huge. Twin cylinder bikes have traditionally not done too well at the TT in recent years (I can't remember a Ducati winning since Hailwood, but there may have been one) and the sustained high speeds seem to favour 4 cylinder bikes. You also need a rider who has a lot of expereince on the course rather than a rookie. You can't learn the TT course in a weekend I think an experienced privateer at the Manx GP would be a much better entry point for EBR rather than a full on attempt at the TT. |

True, we can only dream for now. But that would be so sweet to see one day. |

I'm with Matt, HP is king at the TT and the fast boys are on what are pretty close to WSBK bikes. The need to run for long periods at full RPM may hurt the Twins also |

I dont know about that, seems like the Aprilia twins are dominating WSBK |

The Aprila is a V4. It looks like the Millie is completely gone from there lineup. |
