It is with sadness I confess to being Ulyless...passing the most unique of bikes to Paul (Ulysses2explore) who will be replacing me as a grinning fool...and he is in love with his new Uly.

I did not run off with another bike...as nothing really interestes me. OK...I picked up another CH250 Honda scooter for air in the face on nice days...and MAYBE the Mrs. would go for a short ride for fish and chips etc.

Last year my riding buddy's health caused him to sell his 07 Uly...and my wife just did not want to go for any decent rides (ok, she is 62 and sitting gets to her) so Mr. Uly got 200 miles last year.

Really...unless I wanted to spend a lot of money and I don't...NOTHING compares to the wicked grunt and fun factor of these bikes. Add comfort, occasional wheelies, and ability to go a long way or rip up a logging road...for a lot less than 10 grand...nothing out there.

I am toying with a old 1500 Wing...maybe the girl would come along and if I bought it cheap enough I would not mind it sitting.

Cleaned up the 81 185 which runs great and I can go ride with the grandkids...until a 525KTM or something pushes what is left of my testosterone button (yes, I rode with Evel...when I was 12).

It feels like a big hole in me...with the Uly gone. I kinda resent Paul...who is really a delightful young man...for being so happy with the bike. I know, self inflicted.

I also figured I would die on that thing too...so maybe all good. Actually a good way to go...messy though.

So take good care of Paul. He has this really nice 09 Orange Uly...

And the Lord watch over each one of you.
Eulysses

PS...got a gob of new and used spare parts...even a 2010 wheel all set up. I will put together a list in classifieds...take 20 off on everything.

Actually a ch250 is my favorite bike out of the bikes I have owned. I had an 87 that I put 47,000 miles on.

Sad to hear that, Eulysses. Very sad, but I understand and hope it is the best for you. I always kind of thought there was a good chance that we'd meet up and ride sometime, maybe on one of your southwest trips. Man, before you know it we won't have many north westerners left. We lost Ulyfish, : ), J/K, it was something with 'fish' in it, a really good guy, who went to a Triumph I believe, we lost the guy from Billings who tried to bury his pretty red Uly in the desert, : ), another really good guy, skifast is popping belts so often that I think he may develop a wondering eye soon, if he hasn't already, and now you, a member of the class I came in with! ugh.

Hey, take care, the very best to you and your family, and please stop in and say hi every now and then.

George, it has been a pleasure being a BadWebber with you. You don't have to leave because your Uly found it's time to leave you.

It is nice to see an honorable person bid his adieu.

I hope your future is full of grand riding and fond memories of what that Uly did for you. Remember it was aimed at HD's youth market!

Well, thank you. I suspect I will be checking in. BuellerXT and Etennuly are two of the stalwarts that make this forum the top reason to ride Buell as we have become orphans. I am sad about it...and I have always thought I would meet you two as well. Gonna see how long I can scooter! I have a friend with a decent old Goldwing who wants us to try it. If the Missus likes it...beats nothing! A boat compared to a rather primal rocket though. The Uly was as close to a Sportster dirt bike I could find...and still do the wide open road. I could still get excited about a Sportster dirt bike...

Well sometimes you gotta make changes. My 80 year old riding buddy started having vertigo problems a couple of years ago and decided, after a ride from Georgia to Sturgis and back, that maybe it was time to give up two wheels. He bought a trike and we rode to Newfoundland! Sometimes you just do what you have to do to stay in the wind. I hope the Wing works for you!

Oh, I must say I checked your profile and loved it but when I saw your preferred oil I busted out laughing!! Amen brother!
