Rode the X-1 for the first time in a while, been sitting some but brother-in-law ridimg it now and again. Started hard, idled rough, but better when warmed up. Still rough, missing in mid range. Any suggestions as to where to start? Thanks, Larry |

first things first,, what about fuel how old is it. was the tank full or not while it sat, if it is not full it will create moisture in the tank. |

It sounds like you have an intake leak. The seals between the manifold and head and between the throttle body and manifold need to be changed from time to time and those are the symptoms. steve |

I'm with 01X1 on this. Fresh fuel and some gas dryer to start. While somewhat reluctant to change 2 things at one time (makes it hard to pinpoint what the problem really was) if you have a set of sparkplugs lying about, changing the plugs might be in order. If the brother-in-law has a riding style not in keeping with what the bike needs, especially on an engine not completely up to temp, the plugs may be 'dodgy'. |

Thank you all. Did all three. Don't know which it was but it's back to the way it should be. Larry |
