My 97 M2 tank decals are bubbling. Dealer doesn't have them. Does anyone know if these decals on eBay are the same size? Seller doesn't know. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271153848946?ssPageName=ST RK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 2 NEW BUELL AMERICAN MOTORCYLES EMBLEMS DECALS WHITE RAISED LETTERED STICKERS |

They are more of a plastic "emblem" than a decal... are you repainting the tank? Not sure if they will line up exactly if you are only cutting the current bubbly decals out! |

I wasn't planning on repainting the tank but the emblem's are driving me nuts, something has to change. |

I am pretty sure the raised letter decals are larger than the old stickers |

Do you happen to know if they'll fit a m2? If not it doesn't seem like I have many options. Dealer is out. I could take them off which looks like shit from the photos I've seen. I wonder if I could have a shop paint in the logo but I wonder if those would bubble too. |

I believe the 97 M2 and S1 tanks are the same? Post a note in the M2 section, someone will tell you. |

Wesley, make sure you get the tank sealed from the inside before paint. |

Yes, 97 M2 and S1 tanks are the same. The logos are flexible, especially if you warm them with a hairdryer before installation. They will "fit" anything you want to stick them to... |

I have a set of S1 stickers still on the application card, if I find some time tonight I can hold them over the raised letters and see if the raised letters completely cover them. |

Trouble_enabler, was it a perfect fit? If not how did you apply them. Jolly would you sell your stickers? |

I just checked and I have both types of stickers that have not been used yet. I held them up over each other and the S1 decals are smaller than the x1 raised letter style, so much so that they cant be completely covered up. I am still working with a company that does powder coating on nylon parts that may be able to help us solve this problem. the tank I sent them apparently had been painted multiple times and they are trying to strip the layers without destroying the tank. its a slow process because they are doing this "on the side" as a test for me... once they strip the tank they will put it in the oven heat it up to 400 and see what off gases, then powdercoat while its at temperature then cure it and send it to me, Ill put fuel in and run it for a few months and see what happens. I am hoping that through time and energy and some up front expenses out of my pocket I can help us all arrive at a solution...finally!!!. |

Anyone know if the new raised decals will cleanly cover the old flat decals? I can't tell in Trouble_enabler's photo and he also didn't say if he painted the tank first. I was going to get some factory flat decals but if the newer raised decals will go on cleanly I'll get those as I read they are less likely to bubble? Btw Jolly- want to sell me some decals? |
