Why do Andrews gears have different number of teeth than stock? My countershaft 2nd gear has 33T while they list 28T. Also anybody know the difference between the shift shaft letter revisions? 34144-89A, 34144-89B, 34144-89C. They are all from the same year but the A and B revisions are half the price. |

different tooth count because they are close ratio. A and B are cheaper because harley no longer wants them around. C is current. they only change parts (add revisions) if they think it is important. so C fixed B's problem? sounds good to me. but what do I know? edit; I would bet that your bike is a 2000 or older. that is because in 2001 harley went to a close ratio second gear. probably the same as andrews? (I think it was second that they changed) (Message edited by nitrous_jim on February 19, 2013) |
