I have a 2009 Ulysses. She has 13,000 miles on her. Oil changed every 3,000 miles. Spark plugs changed at 10,000 miles. Live in Georgia where our weather this time of year is up and down. Check engine light came on on a cool 40 degree day. Bike still running ok. Takes a while to start though. Guy I bought her from said she was cold natured. How do I check for codes? |

First, with the '08 and later models, you will need to get the electrical diagnostic manual. Sec 2.5 shows how to make a jumper cable to connect pins 1 and 2 in the diagnostic connector to see the trouble code(s). Or just jumper them together with a paper clip or some such. Once you have the code (and there are several) you will know where to look. BTW, the service manual is also worth obtaining. Al at American Sport Bike is a good source for the manuals. And, as always, check your battery condition, battery cables, and grounds. Hope this helps, Dave |

+1 on the manuals, they really are worth the $ to own & have on hand. If ordering from Al @A.S.B. he also has a code reading dongle with laminated card that describes the codes if you don't want to look them up. I used the homemade jumper method described above originally and then finally just added the dongle to another order from Al to throw in my bag for trips. Good luck. |
