I have my drummer on the way. I wanted to make sure that I made a well informed decision. Bubba is very biased. I believe I made a good choice. Is there anything I should know before I install? Anything that I have to look forward to? How does it really sound? Is there anybody in the midwest with PMS as bad as mine? Make the snow go away!! Rich edited by evil_twin on February 05, 2004 |

i feel for you, i ordered my drummer today (finally) after selling my race kit muffler on ebay (for a profit i might add, gotta love ebay). i felt i made an educated decision and buckinfubba has every right to be biased, he helped make one hell of a great muffler. as for the snow, hmmm, mid wisconsin has had more snow already this year than the past few years combined (speculation) and i've had to move my bike indoors to complete the work due to the blistering cold. i call is seasonal depression myself, but my wife luckily doesn't mind the cycle in the sunporch (good wife). hang in there, spring is coming, and imo, you made a good choice with the drummer. |

Don't feel bad, Lothodon. My bike is sitting in my dining room. I am just a little south of you in NW Indiana. ('bout half an hour out of the Loop.) We only have 4 to 6 inches right now. Rich |

The Drummer will sound a lot better after 200 miles - the sound is just a little bit stifled at first. I don't think you guys will ever regret buying it. |

Had mine for about 6500 miles. NO REGRETS Sounds as if you researched the can. You did spring for the Race ECM also? From what I have expericend, lower DB's to about 3K RPM and louder above 5K RPM. It does get a tad louder after about 1000 miles, but nothing to be worried about. Butt dyno tells me 85DB max. edited by kaese on February 05, 2004 |

I got the "kit" from Bubba. Airbox, filter, ECM and the Drummer. Now, I am all anxious. Why can't UPS be faster? Guess I just get to sit and wait. Rich |

I lived in Daytona Beach from 95 to 98. Had to move back to Indiana. Can't make any money in that state unless you are a lawyer, a doctor, or a mortician. I can't complain, I make a decent living up here. The snow is okay from time to time. Just starting to get a little cabin fever, I suppose. It's been too ungodly cold to actually go outside and do anything. BTW, Thanks for everything, Brian. Rich |

Bubba, I got the "Drummer" today. I just got it bolted on and fired up! It sounds great! Just the sound that I was hoping for. Thanks for the great service! I'm in the same situation as Evil twin though. There is still just enough ice left that I will have to wait to get to the dealership and have the TPS reset. Then I can go play and give her a proper workout! Maybe next week. Evil twin I'm with you. I am ready for the snow to be gone (at least off the roads). The cabin fever just kicked up a notch now that the new pipe is on. Ohhh... to be back in NC! BTW Long time lurker, first time poster. I hope I am getting this in right! |

I've got it backwards. I'm riding everyday, jonesin' for the Drummer kit! I'll have it by late March when I hit the 10,000 mi mark! That's when riding season is the best here. I am sorry most of you are snowed in. That's why I am a native to Phoenix... You can have it! |

Under normal situations, I probably would ride it in. But, I am going to play it safe and truck it in. I can smell that it is burning a little different when I start her up. Not taking any chances. Besides, if I could actually ride her, I don't know how long it would take me to get there. I usually find some scenic detours. Rich |

evil don't forget that after they reset it ride for about 10 miles at 3800 rpm to let the ecm learn what the engines doing. then ride normal as you do and by about 50 or so odd miles it will be really good to go |

Hey Brian, Can you guys take Visa for the Drummer or do I need to send you a check? I followed Judd's D&D equipped 9S around this weekend and I can't stand my stock exhaust any longer. I need a Drummer! Mike Luddy, Jr. '04 XB12R |

Do you have to reset the TPS when you install a new muffler? Or are you guys installing a muffler race ECM combo? Jason |

Jason you'll need the race ecm filter and muffler installed then bring her in to get the TPS reset. |

Let me fine tune my question. I ordered the D&D from Dave in Iowa, do I need the race ECM to run this muffler? I know that when you install the race ECM you have to reset the tps. I wasn't planning on getting the race ECM at this point, unless of course the bikes gonna run like shit with out it. So if I don't have to install the race ecm when I install the D&D, will I have to reset the tps? If I do I will get the ecm as well and have to reset it once, rather than now and then later down the road. |

Jason, The only time you need to reset the TPS is when you change ECM's. You don't "need" the race ECM to put on the new can, but you may not get all of the benefit of it without one. Brian could probably tell you more but that's the bare bones answer. Timbo |

jason you can run without the race ecm but as was said you won't get everything out of it. but I wouldn't wait forever to get it. the stock ecm doesn't compensate all that well with a free flowing pipe and filter you did get the filter right. if not you'll be ok I think |

I figured why do it half ass. I just got back from my dealer, I went ahead and got the race ECM and the filter. Now just waitin on the D&D from Dave. Hopefully by the time it gets here all this rain will have cleared out. I don't know how you guys do it, living in those arctic climates. Waiting on the rain is bad enough. Jason
