I know that peggy is counting on the area clubs to map out some rides also for Thursday and Friday.She wanted Ukes to consentrate on a ride in the Geneva area and up to Ukes.And she also told me that she wanted Hals to do something Northwest.Friday is to what I understand the factory tours late afternoon 3:00ish.These are the things that Peggy spoke to me of and she did say I could spill it so I am.All dates and times will be in the next Fuell mag and there sight will be updated next month.So I hope I this helps some with interest for who's coming. PS I did leave one thing out Reg will be here doing a non-competative Battletrax in Eastroy and Ukes will have a competative one. | ||

That would be cool.I've been apart of 2 homecomings,2000 and 2001 and of coarse if you want to include the 20th as 3 and have never seen him ride.I do have a pic of him riding a pocket bike though around Uke's parking lot.How about Bubba Blackwell doing Battletax wouldn't that be cool if we could get him to take part in that.Burnouts,wheelies,and stoppies around cone's.Cool,Cool!!!! | ||

I was going to wait until the next Brew City meeting to spill some beans, oh well. (Some of us have some control there Dana !!!  ) Mary, the ride coordiator at national BRAG, has asked Brew City to come up with several routes on several days for the Homecoming event. Hal's will most likely be doing some sort of function as well. We will be discussing more things at the meeting on February 12th. | ||

Just a note to let the visiting Buellers know that depending on the route selected, the roads that connect Uke's, Lake Lawn, East Troy, Hal's and Road America are the best Southeast Wisconsin has to offer. It just depends if you are in a hurry or not. If you are thinking of attending the Homecoming, pick up a Wisconsin State Map and the AAA map of Milwaukee that has Southeastern Wisconsin on the back and you will have a great reference to all the destinations. The bar code on the back of AAA's 2002 Milwaukee/SE WI map is 79420101. No new roads here since then so it should still be in publication. If you are interested in the scenic twisty route to connect the destinations, send an email to me at NevCo1@aol.com with Buell Homecoming in the Subject Line and I will forward last years route sheet in Excel format. You can highlight it on the Southeastern Wisconsin map and get a feel for the area. Incidentally, I will be updating the route as soon as the snow goes away to include Lake Lawn, Road America, Hoban's and a more scenic route from Hal's to Uke's. The leg from Hal's to Uke's was the most challenging as it traverses some snoozer farm roads but it was that or the freeway. This years route will add some more mileage but will take you through roads you will never forget. It will be a modified "Figure 8" with tangents to the destinations that don't fit the pattern. Once you highlight your map, you will see the nice twisty roads that you can take as alternate routes to cut the trip short or get to other destinations. Depending on time, you can do the route either whole in one day or in part over a period of days. FYI, I am planning on completing the revised route by Mid-April. Once you do the map work, please feel free to send an email to me if you have any questions or comments. Will be more than happy to recommend points of interest and alternative routes. Once we settle on the subject, I will email the update to those that have requested the route. The last suggestion I have is don't forget to bring your BRAG Atlas as it shows the locations of all the dealers on your route to and from Wisconsin. Is a great source of information, but it lacks detail concerning the twisty routes. Great if you are cruising on a Harley but not what Buell's are about. In conclusion, I am most certainly not trying to disrupt any of BRAG's planned activities. Merely trying to give you something to do if you find yourself with some free time and want to see a little more of the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. Ride Safe and Enjoy!!! | ||

Mike...considering the announcements made about Uke's and Hal's setting up the rides while I was writing my previous post, I think it would be best if I not interfere as an Outrider. Will still do the 2004 route for myself and other sport riding groups I participate in as well as anyone here that is interested. The local clubs already know the 2003 route and if they use it as a baseline, the revisions should be quite apparent. Lot of fine riders with local knowledge in both clubs and allowing them to work it out together will be good for the unity of both BRAG and the Homecoming. | ||

No problem. I'll probably ping you when it gets closer to that time since you have some updates you'll be doing. Supposed to snow again tomorrow. Bummer. I'm interested in heading up to Hoban's sometime, that could be an interesting ride. Will have to play around with routes some once the weather breaks and I get one of the bikes reshod and some maintenance done. | ||

The reason that "rides" didn't work out for me at the 20th was because of the weather, not because of lack of effort from our hosts. It was too freaking hot and humid! After riding to Hal's, to the factory, to the barn, to the Quonset hut, etc. on Wednesday in the heat and humidity you could've stuck a fork in me. I was done! Nobody can control the weather and for me it was just too hot and humid for any longer rides. What's all this crazy talk about Racine being a "ghetto"? It's a suburb! An easy 5-10 minute ride and you're in a cornfield! That's not a ghetto! Anyway, I plan on making the Homecoming in June! | ||

John, we didnt take you "east" at all. Take the same road the restaurant was on about a mile east & you will start to see the Ghettos. Run right on down to Martin Luther king drive, & its like Chris Rock says about MLK. Every town has one & if you are ever in a town & are lost & you look up & see MLK drive..RUN!!! Kenosha made their MLK drive about 2 blocks long & it runs thru a park. Not a single house on the road. You come on down in june, I will be sure & take you on a Ghetto run. We will hit the bad areas of K-town & Racine & then you can decide for yourself & post the results here Course for a real good ghetto run, we will have to take you down to Waukegan & North Chicago. There are areas in those places that your lily white ass does not want to be after sunset. Speaking of ghettos, for those who actually get out & travel the country, what towns would you list as being the worst when it comes to ghettos or just plain bad living. This is my list in no particular order. Detroit East St Louis Cincinnati Washington DC Little Rock Waterloo...just kidding Dave. Wanted to see if you were awake | ||

Hey John...Good to hear from you again. You sure do have our August weather pattern figured out. Just be relieved to know that it is quite pleasant here in June. Little chilly at night and there is always a chance of a quick shower, but nothing drastic like you experienced. Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Chicago...What's the difference? All cities have bad areas. The part of Racine you were in is really nice, quiet and on the major routes to go, see and do whatever moves you. Then again, don't ever ask me about Racine's "Jimmie Bland and the Twenty Grand Boyz" from the 1960's unless you want a real shock. Trust me, that was no street corner soul group. Don't know if they are still going, but they were some bad hombre's, especially on campus at the State Universities. Got some great stories about that era! Glad it is over and glad I lived. LOL See ya at the Homecoming! | ||

Dyna...After 30 years on the road, in order of pure hostility it is Algiers, LA, Washington, DC, Detroit, MI, and East St. Louis. The rest are pretty mello if you don't sweat. Not to mention in the Southeastern States, I would rather walk what you refer to as the ghetto than the redneck hoods. |
