Due to an overwhelmingly positive response to last year's event, Brumbear and I will be organizing a shindig for this spring as well! It seemed that everyone had a excellent time and was happy with the overall format last year, so we're not going to be changing hardly anything. The only real notable change is that we'll be sure to post up where the dinner meet up will be for both Friday and Saturday night - we felt bad that some people showed up Saturday evening last year and were unable to find anyone because we hadn't posted up the plans anywhere. Also, a few people had discussed possibly extending the event into the week leading up (something like a Wed-Sun thing), and spending the first couple days in Northern VT before heading down to the Lake George region for Friday evening. Brumbear nor I will be involved in any of the planning for that as it's unlikely that either of us will be able to attend, but I will post any info on that here and on my website so that anyone who wishes to attend that portion can easily find that info. Be sure to bookmark my webpage as I'll be keeping all of the pertinent info there: http://www.allseasonrider.com/adk-buell-rally.html Most people, including myself, will be staying at the Fort William Henry. It's a little more expensive, but it's the easiest. http://www.fortwilliamhenry.com/ This was a great event last year and I hope to see a lot of those who came to make the trip again, as well some new faces. Here's the link to last years thread for anyone that's interested: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 666388.html?1357328980 |

http://www.lakegeorgeguide.com/attractions/ This is some stuff to do if your with the family and not on your machine or the family is in need of something to do while you are!!! The Rally is family friendly folks you will enjoy the area I can almost guaranty it we can't control the weather but it's usually fair this time of year up there. Nights are cool and bonfires are somewhat frowned upon in the local establishments. |

Set in stone - we did the weekend before Memorial Day last year and this is the same weekend this year. Seems easiest for most without getting into the busy summer season. |

FYI - if booking at the Fort William Henry, use promo code "FACE" and you'll get 20% off the room price. The standard room drops from $88/night to $70. No idea how long that one will be good for, but it worked for me just now. (Message edited by xl1200r on January 21, 2013) |

Did you call them up? They may give a group discount for something like this. |

I'm going to stay up in LG this year. Needing to ride home after really puts a damper on the festivities. :P |

We're not going to have a big enough of a crowd or be spending enough money overall to do that, I don't think. Plus, I doubt we'd do any better than the $70/night deal. |

Ah, good call. How did you get it to take the promo code? Their website is awful (silverlight for this? seriously?), and I've tried twice, yet I can't type anything into the textbox. Gah. |

Worked on Windows for me. Must be something strange with silverlight for Mac that was causing the issue. $70/night; not bad at all. |

I was too cheap to pay for lake view, so I have parking lot/mountain view. Oh well, it'll be better not having to bother riding back home each night. |

Dave, I will plan on meeting you in the same spot on 30 and 7. Do you remember how long it took you to get there last year? It only took me about an hour from Endicott to get to Cobleskill. |

Nah Dave I don't remember but I will say it took about 1.5 hrs after the lunch brake. We can communicate once on the road though or you could meet us for lunch it's probably about the same ride to Hunter. |

I might just meet you for lunch this year. I was thinking of working a 1/2 day again but I might just burn a Vacation day this year to get more riding in. |

I'll have to see if the boss buys it lol Looking at the maps it looks like it would take us the same amount of time to get to Liberty, NY. So if I leave here by 9am I could meet you there at about 1030. I might just do that. BTW if my math is correct (which being blonde and a Salesman its not Always ) 103 Days to go! |
