Once upon a time, I had a Corvette Z06, and when I would head home from work, once I got into the country, there were a few great places to just let her eat a bit...didn't have to hammer it to get the big grin. My M2 now does the same thing. I had to find the culprit causing it to wander a bit in corners, but after that, wow! I have redone a lot of the ancillaries like the carb and ignition, tires, cables, forks, isolators and more...not much in the bling area yet. BUT, this bike is just awesome. My harleys have never had the great power or the rev capability that this 1200 has. This thing is a beast that loves to rev, and is barking the whole way. Ride comfort, handling and brakes are the best. Just came in from another country tour (short) and have the big grin...doesn't get any better than that. |

The M2 is one of the best motorcycles ever made. |

That' a great summary of the M2, it's like a muscle car that could handle well. Not the best top end power, but you rarely use that, and not the best handling, but you rarely ride at 10/10ths anyway. It was optomized to make 0/10ths through 8/10's simply wonderful, while performance bikes sacrifice that area to try and make 9/10ths and 10/10ths as good as possible. It was a great trade. I'll have another M2 someday, I'm sure of it. |

I can ride my M2 for five hours straight. It gets over 50 miles to the gallon and holds 5. It is faster than a Corvette and sits me high enough to see over most traffic. Made mostly in East Troy, Wisconsin, my M2 is not a world beater but I love to ride it every day so it is ultimately a better bike. What's the point of a solid fueled rocket that only gets 1000 miles a year put on it? The only shortcoming is wind protection. I can strap all the bags to it I want but one sure does get cold in winter without a fairing. Additionally one pays for seating comfort in having pegs that WILL scrape. Hanging off I have no room to spare under my pegs while chasing 600's through tight turns. Guess I'll pass em at the next Sunoco |
