Has any one run the 1125CR mirror signals as running lamps? I would like to, but I worry that they might not be designed for 100% duty, and that running them will reduce the life and/or brightness of the LEDs. |

FWIW, I did the CR mirror / turn-signal swap and went with the standard turn signals as the running lamps without any issues of excessive wear and tear on the OEM bulbs (about 15k on the bike since). Would imagine the LEDs would have a longer life cycle, but the OEM bulbs are just a few dollars to replace, unlike the CR mirrors. . . Here's a pic, including the fork mounted MotoLights. YMMV, and best of luck.

I would not call those type of lights "running lamps". Good for being seen but not for seeing if you get my drift. |

You already have a "running light" with the low beam on. That was the point of doing it and a running light should be white not amber which are for indicators. If you want to be seen better mount white LEDs at some point on the side of the bike and/or amber LED projecting indicators at right angles from the bike as well. These are clearly seen by people coming at you from the side and will help stop you getting "tee boned" at a junction. I use R/CR type indicator mirrors and use these as extra indicators in place of the old indicators but in amber.

Increased conspicuity is the purpose of this endeavour. I hope that CR mirrors will contribute to a nice light triangle, and perhaps make the bike a little extra noticeable from the sides. The mirrors will also double as indicators. A 4-wire trailer adapter easily provides this functionality -- I'll post details when all is done. |

Marc, I'm curious about the extra indicators that you placed where the old indicators were. From your post, I'm guessing they are mounted flush and are mostly visible from the side of the bike? They look very interesting but it's hard to gauge the size of them from the picture. If you have a link or brand name/model, I'd be most grateful |

All the details are here. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-LED-Projector-Ind icators-Turn-Signal-Fit-Triumph-Trident-750-900-/1 90784929911?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2c6bab 0077#ht_9227wt_1162 As I said I use them with mirror indicators as well so you can bee seen from the front and side VERY well. A top quality item. Not cheap but what is thats any good these days? |
