Hi guys, I have run into some financial troubles and I have to sell my CR. It is a 2009 Racing Red 1125CR with 5884 on the odometer. I bought it used (one owner) in August 2010 with 1200 miles on it. It had been sitting at Old Glory Harley Davidson in Laurel, Maryland for not sure how long, but obviously not very long. The previous owner had put a Back Off taillight module in it which flashes the brake light intermittently when the brakes are engaged, and also the high bars (2009 CRs come stock with Clubmans). He also put a battery tender hook up. These are all still on the bike, minus the high bars. I have kept the bike garaged during the entire time I have owned it. I put Clubman bars on it myself, along with new throttle cables but left the high bar brake and clutch lines on. I also put bar end mirrors on it and installed LED turn signals in the plastic on either side of the head light. The previous turn signals/mirrors are gone as I broke one of them in a low speed low side coming out of my driveway, and I used the wires from the turn signals/mirrors for the new turn signals (bullet connectors inside the headlight cowling). Everything else on it is stock, including the tires, brake pads, etc. The oil and coolant were changed at the dealer for the 1200 mile service. It has the stock stator as well, as it never burned out and the electrical system has shown no signs of trouble. It has the wiring harness. It has some scrapes from the low side (might as well call it a "fall over") and some rust on the exhaust in the welds, and dirt/oxidation on some other components. There is also a leaky dust seal on the right fork. At this point, I do not have the title. It is with the lienholder. I have about $4200 left on the loan, so that is what I am selling the bike for. I am not trying to make profit on it, just need to sell it and I don't want to give it back to the dealer. Basically, you pay me, once the check clears (or cash is preferred) I will give you the bike, then pay off the loan, and transfer the title to you. It is pretty much a blank slate bike. You can use it for parts, change it to a track day bike, or just brush it up and ride it around and enjoy it. It has never been abused/ridden hard/ridden for long periods of time, so everything on it should be fine. I am including a service manual with the bike. I am new to posting pics up here so I am going to try to insert this hyperlink, otherwise I will copy and paste the link. The bike is garaged in springfield, VA 22151. If you're interested, we can work out the logistics, etc. over the phone, email, text, whatever; just PM me and we can go from there. I have a few more pics of different parts of the bike. What you see there is about as bad as it gets. I can email all the pics if you want. I also have a spare key for it and the owner's manual, of course. And I almost forgot, but there is a Lojack in the bike which can be transferred over. Thanks, Mike (Message edited by CRmike on January 14, 2013) (Message edited by CRmike on January 14, 2013) |

It is winter, you will have a hard time selling it before spring gets here. |

I would jump on this, but I wouldn't even be able to register her in California until 7500 miles due to our dumb laws. Any out of state vehicle under 7500 is considered new and unregisterable. GLWS! |

@Froggy, I like to keep a positive state of mind. There are places where it is never winter, such as Florida and parts of California, etc. But i see what you mean. Rayne, got any friends that live outside of California that could put the extra miles on the bike for you? |

Rayne: I looked into this as well because I found a bike I wanted that only had 150 miles on it (a 2009 firebolt if I remember right). Some states such as Idaho, allow you to register a bike even though you do not live there. You only need an address where the bike is and they will direct all paperwork to your home state. Once it is registered in your name in another state, California has no choice but to allow you to transfer title. If I would have found this out I wold probably own that Firebolt and not my 2000 S3T (although I love this bike). |

Yea I understand, but even in those states sales are slow this time of year, just nature of the industry. I've seen it in the past where someone goes on a fourm, has the bike up for sale a few days in the middle of the winter then whines that "brand xyz is crap because nobody wants them" when the only thing wrong is the timing. Being in New York I've taken advantage of that and got several bikes during Jan/Feb at significantly cheaper prices. Bike looks good, the price looks great, you shouldn't have much of an issue selling that once people start getting their tax returns. Rayne - it only needs about 1700 more miles, which you would gain riding it back to Cali, or you can get that in a decent weekend riding locally if you have it shipped. |

Crmike: Unfortunately I don't know anyone in VA that could do that for me. Airbozo: I was thinking about doing that, but I read that I would need to switch off my Cali license to get it registered. I have 3 other vehicles registered to me in Cali, and fear it might bring up a flag when I try to transfer the title. Froggy: 1700 miles is definitely a good weekend of riding. I guess I'm hesitant to leave it registered to someone else while riding it. Might run into problems if I were to get pulled over. I'm still reading up on ways to get around this. Unfortunately read stories where the motorcycle VIN was locked in the CA DMV system and flagged as unregisterable in CA permanently. |

Rayne, My thought on it was your out of state friend (didn't have to be in VA, could be some other state) could buy the bike, put the miles on it then sell it to you for like a dollar or something, and I would have done the paperwork with him, and he would do the paperwork with you. Rather circuitous, but achieves the goal. Anyways, you seem to be searching all possible avenues anyway. 1eyert, I didn't seem to get your PM so I PMed you with my email. Mike |

Do you actually have to present the vehicle now for a title in CA? Why not just exaggerate the mileage a little bit on the title for the transfer? The actual mileage should catch up in a few days. |

This is so silly. Getting some offers but nothing in concrete yet. I know its only been 4 days so I shouldn't be so OCD about it. Bike really has to go, though. |

I live in VA. Like 5 minutes from the OP. Just a wild guess but I'll put some miles on the bike for you, I ride all year long. To be honest, if I had any sort of justification for it, I'd buy the thing myself. Much as I love my Cyclone, it ain't exactly the fastest thing in the world especially now that I've geared it like the Europe bikes. Though I would definitely prefer the high bars to the chin-grazing-the-front-wheel bars. CRMike, I can't tel where you live from the photos (good job) but it looks ('feels') like a road that starts with E and ends with LL. Accessible from the 'west' exit of i395. I too live on that road, closer to the other side (you know where Giant is?) Even if we do no business together I'd at least like to come by and shoot the shit with you and look at your bike. |

The bike is in Springfield in a garage, and I live in Great Falls. I am going to be in the Springfield area on Saturday, working and will probably be free late afternoon early evening to show you the bike. PM me for my number if you're interested. |

tempting, Mike. very tempting. Last night I had a weird dream that there was somehow a small crustacean in my eye. Considering I call red 1125cr's angry lobster bikes, I think the symbolism of my dream was that I was nearly blinded by a lobster because it was too close. In other words if I come look at it I might do something stupid like buy it. I don't mean to give you a bunch of bullshit runaround, I know you're serious and need to sell your bike. I'm just in a gray area where I could survive buying it but have no good reason to do so other than it's a steal for a collectible piece of very fast American history that's within walking distance of my home. |
