Thats too bad I was hoping a younger rider would get the ride. In past videos Erik has stated one of his goals is to provide a team/bike that younger talent can race on in superbike then named a few lower 20s riders out there. This seems to go against that. Yates is a good rider but I wish they went with Westby or West. |

2nd EBR seat hasn't been announced yet we're still speculating, correct? |

Looks like Honda is back in AMA Pro Racing! Finally, a team I can root AGAINST. |

"wish they went with Westby or West" Westby is gone, riding a Honda, but don't give up on West being on a EBR just yet. |

Looks like Honda is back in AMA Pro Racing! Finally, a team I can root AGAINST The link is above your post. Root AGAINST??? Why root against a brand. It also takes a rider to be a winner and Westby is quite frankly a awesome rider. Firstbuell... is it just speculation.LOL |

I think Geico went to Honda for a couple reasons. 1) Financially they are strong right now where Suzuki isn't and couldn't support there effort like they have. 2) Honda is really pushing contingency money this year so having a team or two out there helps steer the public to buy a honda. |

Plus Honda has a redesigned bike instead of the Suzuki that is getting older. Not as old as their 1000 though. I know Westby is with Honda that is why I was bummed it wasn't him. Still hope for West but I think it will be Yates. A rider who was off for over a year before returning for a handful of races last year. If you say you want to give young riders opportunities you probably shouldn't "give" the open seat to one of, if not THE oldest guy on the grid. |

Larry Peagram was suppose to change brands and I think he is just not announced yet. He also hinted of another rider in the camp...again not yet announced. |

I just love seeing Honda throwing HUGE gobs of money into their racing efforts, and coming away second best. That just makes me feel all gooey inside. Now that Casey is gone, there is a good chance Yamaha will continue to beat them in MotoGP. I have to admit I really enjoyed AMA Racing when Mladin and Spies were making Honda's efforts look downright amateurish. Here's hoping Hayes continues the tradition here in the States. |

>>> Why root against a brand. In Honda's case, because of a history of poor sportsmanship and a clear aim to control AMA Pro Racing rather than support it. When the rules don't go their way, they behave childishly and quit racing. In short, they suck. |

Regarding Honda getting back into AMA: I went to the AMA races at the new track at NOLA last year and my son-in-law and I got to talking to an older guy sitting next to us. He was a BMW rider and a Honda fan with apparently a LOT of animosity towards Buell/HD because of the rule changes that allowed Buell to compete in American Sportbike. He said something about hating EBR because of all that- I was really surprised. I pointed out- "WOAH- that was HD, this is an entirely new company. How can you pull against an underdog like Erik Buell?" He backed down a little but I was just really surprised at the animosity over what happened in previous years. I wonder if that viewpoint is very wide-spread among AMA fans or if he was a fairly isolated case? |

And it's not like Erik was throwing Honda-style money at the AMA/DMG for those rule changes, either... |

In Honda's case, because of a history of poor sportsmanship and a clear aim to control AMA Pro Racing rather than support it. When the rules don't go their way, they behave childishly and quit racing. In short, they suck. Blake I couldn't disagree with you more. The same could be said by all other brands concerning what happened when the XBRR And the 1125 in Formula extreme and now Daytona Sportbike. Only us Buell fans looked at as fare. But back to the present. Honda I agree were whiners and complained and left.... they can do that if they like. If its not the kind of racing they want they have the right to leave as does anyone else. But just this year Yamaha pulled the same type crap and said. If they change the rules where they couldn't use there present electronics they'd pull out. As far as Suzuki??? They were caught for cheating back in 2008. Heck some of teams think Yamaha was cheating in Superbike this year?? I've heard from two different teams personally. So what I'm saying is...they have all been guilty of the complaining, threatening and cheating all of them. Let by gones be by gones we need all of them in the paddock. I'm not a Manufacturer fan... I'm a rider fan. I like all the brands not just one. |

"Blake I couldn't disagree with you more." Then you need to open your eyes Dana... What Blake said about them throwing their weight around is true, and more to the point for me personally... They're the team I've watched go over the "letter/intent" limit most often. I understand that you push the boundaries in racing. I get it, I race myself, and there's plenty of stuff on our car that has the tech inspectors raising their eyebrows, but... the stuff we do is born of competitive sportsmanship. Nothing against the rules and/or hidden in the tech line... just stuff the intelligent people figure out and the stupid ones don't. The stuff I've watched Honda do (and I don't mean teams riding Honda, I mean factory teams) is beyond sportsmanship. Look at examples from F1 and Moto GP. So yeah... I'll be rooting against Honda also. There are very few things I root against in racing. Honda is one of them. (Message edited by M1Combat on January 08, 2013) |

Then you need to open your eyes Dana... My eyes are opened plenty. Thats your opinion and your welcome to it. Honda has brought more money to the sport then any of them. Does that make the entitled??? I don't know. But you didn't read my post they all (Big 4) have done this. In todays economy these guys would ride a Vespa if they were getting sponsorship and a ride to just be there. To root against a factory is not something I'm gonna do. They bring money to the sport regardless of there past. AMA can only benefit by having more brands on the grid point blank like it or not.BTW show me where you have seen Honda cheating in AMA?? Suzuki has and more then we know I'd be willing to bet and not get caught. Hell I bet they all have at one time or another but again...didn't get caught. Honda in the long run didn't wanna go spec racing and they left... there choice. (Message edited by bads1 on January 08, 2013) |

Honda in the long run didn't wanna go spec racing and they left... there choice. No they don't want to go spec racing they just change the rules ie the 5 years of the 800 rules in motogp. I have to admit I have rooted for a Honda the year Nicky was the world champion. You know what never again. Fact is right now it is bothering me that I am a subscriber to Roadracing world. Weather it will bother me enough to cancel the subscription we will see. |

46champ, Umm thats MotoGP not AMA. US Honda decides if they race in this countrie not the folks in Japan. Did ya know that?? Where I found this out was straight from Scottt Russel's mouth along with Greg White. Did ya know that US Honda's TOP MAN retired just a few months ago?? Maybe why your seeing change?? You should also figure in that Ulrich may not saying why the brand change. See Suzuki is in Financial trouble a bit. They backed off sponsorship of another rider to just one. The second one was a pay to ride rider...he brought some of his own funding. Also Suzuki was tied into Geico's team.... Broasters chicken M1 team...Jordans team....Jordans National guard team and still the list goes on. They are trimming the fat... can't afford it all. Honda in the US is under new management to some degree. Japanese Honda hasn't been around since Nicky's days on the RC51. When they switched to 1000 inlines HRC pulled out and US Honda built the race bikes in house. |

Plus Honda has a redesigned bike instead of the Suzuki that is getting older. I think you'll find that this years (2013) CB600RR is the same as last years in almost every respect, and I would think that the AMA race bikes will be heavily based on last years bikes used so succesfully in WSS/Superstock in Europe. Also, there is no mention of Ulrichs team being supplied by Honda direct, or even by Honda US it seems (unless I have missed something?). For all we know he is buying showroom bikes and converting them himself? Honda of course will wring all the publicity they can out of the deal, but that doesn't mean to say they are funding it. Pity Ulrich and or Honda didn't decide to run a team in AMA Superbike instead of Sportbike though Whatever your thoughts are on the big H, it is always better to have more manufacturers involved in racing. |

all these mis-stated 'connections' here are driving me crazy! "AMA Pro" is the NASCAR-owned racing organization, which was split off & sold by "AMA", the membership & M/C advocacy group - the 2 organizations are 100% separate "Roadracing World" is a publication owned by the Ulrich family - the GEICO-sponsored race team exists under a separate umbrella of various companies which are co-owned by the Ulrichs & former racer Bruce Hammer. Their matrix of teams run a mix of brands - these teams are also paid by outside teams & riders to provide technical & other support "Honda" means many things - Honda's MotoGP & World SBK teams are run thru corporate Honda Racing Corp in Japan in the US, American Honda [owned by corporate Honda] funds & runs an in-house racing program - US Honda builds their own machinery [including buying HRC & vendor parts] & makes racing decisions based on US marketing & other US concerns |

They have smoothed out the rough edges but not much. That is true it is a slightly warmed over version with new forks, body and ECU. No idea why I thought it was a complete redo. |
