Drilling the isolator reduces its mass, which changes its characteristics. If the loose fit of the mounting bolt bothers you, get a big bolt and cut the diameter of the tip down and re-thread it so it fits the new nut. It's simple lathe work. Don't put a sleeve over it, that's just one more thing to work loose over time and chafe. Why make more work out of it than it needs? (Message edited by Jramsey on January 05, 2013) |

Anybody ever wonder why the front of the engine was not supported by a smaller OD bolt in the first place ??? Well, if one breaks on you, you will fully understand why !!! The Front of the BIG TWIN Engine sits on this ISOLATOR, "BUT" the heavy BUELL engine hangs from it which makes the smaller OD Bolt a SAFETY ISSUE !!! I stand corrected. I totally misinterpreted the non-X1 frame installation procedure. Looks like the orientation of the ISO is the same regardless of the frame type. Sorry. |

Bikerides, stenzel parts com , they posted it out fast to me, once they got the $, i used pay pal. I have the Stenzel bar mounted to new issolator but issolator is drilled out. it was NOT a straight bolt in with the new style issolator. but not that hard we just machined up an insert so the stensel bar matched the new iso, used spacers supplied to line bar up perfect. when we did this it was a perfect fit. its well made & light. i have the American Sport Bike billit engine mount. i had to get slightly longer bolt than stock for front iso ( new style ) but it would fit perfect with old style iso & stock old style bolt. the longer replacement bolt i got is grade 12 Allen head same diamiter as old style bolt just longer. i also have the extra brace from engine mount to the tab on frame. my bike just handles & steers so much better. i still feel vibration @ idle but front wheel does not bounce at idle. just stops forward to rear movement. i saw this movement when i was checking my steeringhead adjustment. after fitting stenzel bar i checked that again & movement gone. i'm happy. |

On the S2, with the isolator installed with the hourglass shape up, the built-in washer rattles against the frame. I have had to trim the washer with a hacksaw blade to make it a D. |
