To have consistent nomenclature we need to change your handle. M2 U4 D6? It was great to ride with the two of you again. We need to do that more often. I know my schedule is tight but we need to play in the mountains or head to Daytona Beach next year. I need to put together a ride report especially after that comparison ride. Hey Larry. Merry Christmas |

Merry Christmas to all my Buellin friends! I had another adventure getting through Miami on the 19th. All was well heading down the Florida Turnpike to I 95 South... until I hit the north side of Miami. Of course I hit it at 430 PM ... Was wearing my leather jacket and my winter riding pants... and there was some kind of train wreck, so I got off of 95 before I hit the 862 to go around the mess. An hour later of wandering around Mirimar/ North Miami and I had to lay in the grass because I got over heated. Finally made it down to Homestead after another 90 minutes of 80 mph to 5 mph on the Florida Turnpike... by now it was dark. Oh well. Got a way too expensive hotel in Homestead because my head was pounding and I just wasn't sure about gettin into the Everglades National Park after dark... The 20th I set up camp and stayed in Long Pine Key for four nights. Of course my thermarest went on strike, but even the 40 degree nights with my North Face down sleeping bag I have had for 20 years was good. Hit the highlights... hike in Long Pine Key... rode down to Flamingo (the most southerly point of the park before The Keys)... talked to the rangers... did a tour of the Nike Missile Site... found a wallet in the middle of the road and turned it in and saw a few gators. Tourons from Japan (lots of them!), Switzerland, Italy, Balkans and all over the US... got around 1400 miles on this trip so far. Headed north yesterday... crashing with friends in central Florida tonight and then going to try to hit back roads through GA, SC and NC... Avoiding the super slab... fa la la la... la la la la... Love the handle for rubberdown! It strange how that worked out like that, Carlos I guess you will have to seriously consider the BMW so the moniker can stick! Had a great time, just too short! |

Happy New Years kids! We had a great visit with family in PA for a week and good to be back home. Heather surprised me with a custom set of Buell Pegasus cornhole boards, so we've gotta have a party and break them in! I'm hoping for a lot more riding this year- last year was somewhat of a bust. I've also got a few good batches of brew going, so need to get together for a sampling of the suds... Prior |

Appropriate for the day, here is my annual "13 pictures from my Christmas vacation" post. Riding with a friend in his pick up I didn't think anything of it when he turned into a cemetery, as I assumed he was taking a shortcut. It was the driving around inside the cemetery that threw me for a curve. When he stopped the truck I looked around and saw the real reason why we were there:
I stopped in at Hal's one day to see if they had some Buell hardware. After the parts guy sold me what I was in need of he asked if I had seen any of the 'new' EBR's, and that they had 2 on the floor. One Carbon Edition, and one Race Replica:
I didn't realize that the 1190RS had a tensioner on it's final drive until I had the opportunity to examine the Race Replica:
Just an interesting pic:
I also stopped at House of Harley-Davidson/Buell and was pleasantly surprised to see Rudolph the wheelieing 1125CR:
A trip to a car museum in Illinois one day finally allowed me to see my ultimate dream car (well, an authorized copy built by Keith Dean - son of the late, great Dick Dean):
And some other movie vehicles I had never seen before:
And, of course, a trip home is never complete without a visit to EBR:
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic... During a quite excellent tour of EBR I got to see some old friends as well as meet some new ones, and saw some things that both reminded me of the days before H-D and the early days with H-D. What a GREAT vacation - it only sucks that next Christmas is over 350 days away... I hope everyone had a great Christmas and wish everyone an AWESOME 2013! 1313 |

Denise, Are you sure that many rounds of BBs are legal? Sounds like an excellent winter target practice setup! I brought a fwe of my BB guns back from home a few years ago and shoot them every so often. My old man kept my Daisy to take care of the squirrels that get into Mom's garden... We'll do something this spring for sure. Brankin, Cool pics. Always a great place to visit!!! |

LOL Webe! We miss you!! I have exciting news...I start a new job next month. I will be working for Pitt County Group Homes in their main office. I will be with the non-profit sector again . Best part is it's 5 blocks from home and the kids can come out of day care!! We are also taking Carlee to Meredith College this month for Scholarship Weekend. Wish us luck. We are also taking her to Appalachian State University at the end of the month to visit the campus. |
