this F1 news may or may not predict what we'll face in 2013: "On October 14, 2012, NBC Sports Group signed a 4-year deal with Formula One to acquire the exclusive United States media rights to broadcast the sport. The deal will run through the 2013 Formula One season to the 2016 Formula One season. The Formula One United States media rights were previously owned by cable channel Speed for 17 years. According to the Associated Press, a spokesperson from Fox Sports (parent company of Speed) said that they had been out-bid by another network during contract negotiations. NBC said that the deal will provide over 100 hours of programming across NBC and its cable channel NBC Sports Network. Four races will be broadcast on NBC. These four races are (as of the 2013 Formula One season), the Canadian Grand Prix, and the final three races of the season. The other 15 races will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network. However, there could be scheduling conflicts. NBC Sports Network also broadcasts the IndyCar Series, which could result in the [F1] races being broadcast on NBC Sports Group's live-stream platform. NBC has also said that NBC Sports Network will also broadcast all [F1] practice and qualifying sessions and will most likely have a pit reporter at every race and have a booth in the United States. It will also use the world feed produced by FOM." so it appears that both top-drawer open wheel series will be seen on a patchwork of outlets - just as AMA Pro SX, MX, & road racing have been this year I sense a business opportunity.....! |

I know Young is from this state but the dude has always been whiny and never nice to me or my kid when we were at the track and I am glad he is off that ride. Rather have a "good" guy on that "factory" ride. Wonder who will be on the second bike or if they will have a second bike. |

Good question of there will be another Sam. Last year it was a pay to ride rider. |

Can't see Blake Young getting a top ride in British Superbike at this late stage. Pretty much all of the top teams have already announced their lineups for 2013 with the exception of Padgetts Honda, MSS Kawasaki and Supersonic BMW. I can't really see any of them signing what would be seen as a real outsider with no previous UK experience, but you never know. Tyco Suzuki took a chance on PJ Jacobsen and he delivered for them big time I would expect that all of the BSB teams still looking for riders would expect a rider with no BSB history to pay quite highly for his ride next year, or to bring substantial sponsor money with him at least. Don't forget Tommy Hayden or Ben Bostrom. Would love to see either of them on an EBR. |

Ben Bostrom seems to have given up on a AMA ride for 2013 after being dropped very late by Jordan, and says he is either looking at BSB/WSB rides (unlikely given this late stage) or sitting out the season altogether and testing bicycles apparently. |

Yeah been sounds like hes talking Europe in one of the series. Hayden??? He did pretty well in DSB so Icould see him staying with the YES team hopefully. I do however wonder where ZEMKE may go if at all. |

The problem of so many talented riders being unable to find a ride is because of the terrible economy. Unfortunately most of the sponsorship money for our sport comes from the motorcycle industry and the fact is a motorcycle is a toy and when times are bad the first think people stop spending money on is their toys. While we all know that motorcycle racing is far more exciting than cage racing, I fear that it will never become mainstream enough to attract the sponsors with real money such as the beer company's and Home Depots. |

I hope I am WRONG about this. I have a terrible feeling that anyone wanting to race an EBR will have an especially hard time finding sponsorship from outside the motorcycle industry. I feel that a large part of the motorcycle industry including the media will do anything they can to badmouth anything to do with EBR Buell H-D on and on. Doesn't make sense but it is what it is. |

EBR has been getting a lot of positive comments on Speed's coverage of the AMA races. Even Scott Russell has been pretty positive in his comments. |

Like I said I hope I am wrong. Negative media is still out there Superbike planet never wrote a story about EBR till just a couple of days ago and that one was to gloat over the fact that EBR's most successful rider was moving on. Some are not saying anything because there is nothing bad to say. |

Although I read Superbike Planet I have alway felt that they have an elitist attitude that I don't care for. I much prefer Roadracing World because you can find more there about up and coming racers and even articles about club racing. IMHO real fans are interested in all of motorcycle racing, not just the top tier. |

Also I guess it is no big deal, but shows their inattention to up and coming riders, back early in his career when I was sponsoring him, they always seemed to misspell Cory West's name. How hard is it to copy someone's name correctly off a scoring sheet? |

Ok Ulrich released Cardenas from his contract option's. So all that we need to hear now is the press release that he is indeed going to the Yosh team in 2013. Look out Hayes. http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=50564 |

Ulrich is a nice guy but sure seems full of himself. Who else puts out a press release announcing that they are letting some one leave? I understand he is proud of him but he then toots his own horn for picking him off the 5th row. Interesting how they phrased it "set on racing in the Superbike World Championship" which to me means WSBK not AMA. |

Blake count on him riding Yosh's bike in AMA. Many things on the internet pointing to it as well. However I wouldn't doubt he wants to get to WSB. |
