I had the breather reroute and open air box kit installed on my bike, then after riding it I noticed that the entire tail of the bike was coated in oil. Oil was apparently coming from the reroute (no catch can installed). This happened a month ago, I got the parts to return the bike to the original routing of the breathers. Road the bike for about five miles and it filled up the airbox with oil. I pulled the air box cover off and you can see oil coming out of the breather tube for the front cylinder at idle, if you cover it there doesn't feel like there is pressure building in the tube. Has anyone experienced this before? Is this an engine issue (rings, seals) producing crank case pressure? Or something simple like a pcv valve? |

Your bike looks great in your profile. Greg, I've never heard of oil filling up the breather box at idle. Running extreme rpm's for an extended period, you bet you'll have alot of oil spray for sure. Are you sure your oil level is correct? Had the bike been recently serviced? If yes, what service(s) were performed? |

If no changes in engine performance; i.e. problems in starting, power down, new noises, I would suspect the pcv valve. Easy enough to replace. And if a crankcase issue, wouldn't both breather tubes be oily? |

The breathers come off the top end of the cylinders so each works independently. I did take the bike up into the higher rpms but I only rode it about 5 miles at about 4k rpm maybe less. |

Also the bike did feel a little dead in the first couple gears before it got up to speed. |

Greg, check the compression in front cylinder. if it ok,than trouble is no seriously. |

There was a substantial amount of oil in the airbox. Enough that when I placed the bike on the kickstand it ran all over the side of the bike probably 0.5-1.0 quarts worth. |
