Hey, I am going to the POT in Oak Brook Illinios (Chicago) end of April. Who has been to POT and what did you think? I figure on riding to Chi-town Thursday (6 hours from here), doing the thing Friday and Saturday and riding up to Madison, Wisconsin Saturday night (1.5 hours) and home Sunday. Char |

I hate to sound any more stupid than I already do... BUT... What is Primary Officer Training... and how does it relate to BRAG? |

Each local BRAG club elects officers. The primary ones are Primary Officers. The training has something to do with how to run the local club, local/corporate charter rules, probably something to do with Robert's Rules of Order, and possibly how to handle the occaisional disorder from the various Freds and Janes in the groups/clubs. Either the officers pay their own way, or the local club foots the bill to get to and from class. Not sure if there's a cost for the actual classroom time or materials. It does seem to make one into a favored status of sorts with the corp though. Lake went to training, and then somehow got drafted by the Packers. YMMV This is how I understand it, and I"m probably wrong, and if so then someone who's been to the training will correct me. |

I've been to POT the past three years as a HOG officer. It is mostly directed to the cruiser crowd. Most of the info you learn in the sessions could fall under the common sense title (the stuff about $$$, taxes, and the rest of the money side may be helpful to those not familiar with it). This will be my first year as a BRAG officer. I was told that Peggy from WI will be at the training and will be doing "office hours" for the BRAG clubs. The party that HD throws Friday evening is always good. Lots of food, drink, and food. The best thing about it is that you get to meet Officers from around your region and interact. You find out what works and what doesn't and get a few new ideas to make your club a little more interesting and perhaps a couple of new twists to the same old rides. Over all, it is time well spent and I feel every officer could benefit from at least 1 time there. The dealer here isn't paying any thing toward this for us. Our club funds are to small to support us going. We can go if we out of pocket. We won't be going. |

Char, don't forget your black leather vest, and bring a feed bag. I never saw so much food in my life. |
