I would like to replace my stock stator on my 2002 X1 with one that will produce more amps. I have been looking and looking. One store will tell me one thing and another something else. What would be the replacement model #? What else might have to be changed along with the stator? I live in Utah and am wanting to run heated gear with no problem. Your voltage regulator would have to be changed as well. I would suggest installing a voltmeter and trying your stock charging system with the heated gear just to see if you actually do need it. |

I did it to run my twin HID's and custom tail light. Love it. |

I've been running heated gear for years without a problem. It was when I tried using halogen auxiliary lighting at the same time that I had a problem.I installed led's,problem solved. |

How much gear are you trying to use??? I used to use a pair of gerbing gloves and a heated seat with no problems on the stock stator. |

Gloves, jacket, aux lights on a 95 S2...no issues. Gloves, jacket, on S1W... no issues. Install a kuryakyn voltmeter if you haven't already, and ride. I'm willing to bet you'll be fine. The tuber charging system is STOUT. The XB system, equally stout (my Uly runs heated grips, gloves, jacket, and aux lights on a regular basis...and has the ORIGINAL battery from '06 still in it, with nearly 30k miles!). Unless you're running a ham radio, or serious law-enforcement strobe lights...you should be fine. |

I did this because of riding two up with heated gear for both of us. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/433236.html |

I have a stock 2001 X1 when I run my heated jacket liner it drains my battery. You guys are saying you have no problems, what do I need to check on my charging system to assure it is charging properly. |

I use a heated jacket liner and gloves on my XB and never had a problem. I always unplug/turn off 5 or so minutes from my destination just because I've read it seemed a good practice. Give the charging system a chance to run less laden. |
