I have an accessory low Barricade Orange seat which I would love to trade for an all black version of the same seat. Good used condition, with the traditional marks from the triple tail, which should clean off with little effort. I also have the stock '08 XT seat, which I no longer need at all. Offer me an interesting trade -- I could use a flyscreen for either a Uly or an 1125CR. Scratches, etc. are okay, either would be bound for covering with Line-X. Make offers with your spare parts, but I need an all black accessory low in the end... | ||

   Snapped a few pics with the phone this morning. A careful look at the second photo shows outline of the tail. No rips or tears. All black seat is the stock '08 XT seat, also in good condition. I want an all black version of the seat in the first two pics, often called the "accessory low" seat. Surely somebody wants the orange! | ||

Jsg4dfan, I may be interested, but only if it's local. I'm in MD. I have two black '06 seats - one low and one stock. Are those compatible with your bike? But I'm confused about the seats you posted. Besides color, is there a difference in height or seating position? They look the same to me based on the shape. I even referenced Froggy's post http://badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/ 442490.html?1240953451 and don't see how your two seats differ aside from color. Maybe it's just my novice eye. FYI, my black 06 "low" has one small tear right where the seat meats the airbox - so that may be a deal breaker for you anyway (?). I'll try to take a pic today just in case you're interested. Update: I just checked your profile and see you're in TX. But I'm still confused as to whether there is a difference between the yellow X seat and the black XT seat you posted. I agree with Snaggle Tooth. As an owner of an orange and black 06 "accessory low" and a tall seat. The seats pictured are neither of these. The accessory low seat is cut differently than the orange one pictured. It has more of a swooping angle than the steep cliff, if that makes sense. | ||

They are most definitely not the same seat. I took a couple of quick pics with my phone, and the lighting was not exactly studio quality. The seat with the orange is the Accessory Low seat as pictured in Froggy's thread. The all-black seat is the same seat that Froggy has pictured as the "2007+ seat", and is the seat that came stock on my XB12XT. They are shaped quite a bit differently, and I find the accessory low seat to be much more comfortable. It would be nice to have one which is all black, therefore my offer for a trade. I'll be glad to take a pic of the part numbers if anyone is interested. |
