That's right. If you can't see it or touch it, it doesn't exist. Didn't really get the heart issue "sorted out". Just trying to figure out my options. None of us live forever. Best to be prepared if and when death comes knocking... |

gotcha At least you are staying on top of it all... BTW did they actually confirm that you have a heart? and did you request photographic evidence?? Just kidding. Still not doing much riding other than to and from work/ school, but I have been working on the CBR a little to replace some of the parts before I sell it to a buddy of mine. nothing too exciting really, but keeps me somewhat involved with the bikes |

The asking price was always negotiable...(especially @ M.A.). I got what I expected to get. I'm happy... |

for those of you with 1125s... what all is involved with the 31K checkup/ service? basic maintenance like oil change, brake fluid/ clutch fluid? |

Just came to me that most, if not all, of you dont have that many miles on your 1125s... so you probably cannot help. |

Looking at the manual... Replace Engine Oil Check Tires, Clutch Fluid, Belt/Sprocket, Inspect/Service clutch and throttle cables, Check Brake Fluid, Brakes/Pads, Electrical Switches, Exhaust, Cooling System, and Road test... Assuming you have done everything previously required... this is an easy service. You should have had valves done @ 24,800. A special recommendation from me... GET A SERVICE MANUAL! |

I actually have a service manual... I'm just retarded and didnt think to look in there. Yes, all service has been completed prior to this, valves were adjusted at 24,800 |

It was the last break I will have until the new year, so yea... twas nice. I have too much going on in the next month or so... kinda overwhelming to think about. All of my finals are next week or the week after, then I graduate on the 14th, then Stacey and I are getting married on the 21st, and then (I think most of you know) we found out we are having a baby, so Dr.'s appointments galore in between all of this, plus planning for christmas and all the other little details for the wedding... not much downtime. As for bikes, the CBR is sold essentially, just waiting on the full payment. The Buell hasnt seen much riding lately due to a lack of free time, and the fact that I feel bad leaving to ride and have fun on the bike when Stacey really cant/wont risk it with the baby. Have any of you done any good riding lately? I havent heard much |

Last week on my week-day off, I went to Magdalena, Reserve (lunch) and back on Rt32 through Quemado and the Malpais... (on the BMW). I think I saw 5 cars total on the back roads; and one 2-mule drawn wagon (yes-on Hwy12). I did "record" time as there was nothing in my way... Perfect weather, great ride. |

Sounds pretty nice. My buddy from England who is now living (at least temporarily) in California was here over the Thanksgiving weekend. He just got his bike license so we took him out on the 250 a few times so he could practice. We also went by PJ's where he found a nice Bonneville at a good price. I think he's trying to figure out how to buy it. |

My brother has a Bonnie, I've only ridden it around the block, but they are good bikes. Is it a new one or used?? |

This one was quite used. 2009 with 40,000 miles for $6000/OTD. I rode it and it was pretty nice. Good power, nice handling, very standard upright seating position. I liked it.

Well, I got a BS job in a call center to get some cash since it's going to be Christmas soon. My training schedule had me arriving at work at 0600 and getting off at 1430. Not too shabby. I have been riding the Firebolt to work and it's pretty darn cold at 0540 in the morning, let me tell you. Of course, it's been nice at 1430 riding home. I think I'm finally going to put those brake pads on the Uly this week and start riding that. With the heated grips, it'll be slightly more comfortable as we get a bit colder. Of course, this is just when my schedule is going to change to 2359-0900. |

Mate, midnight still isn't too bad. I work grave yards from 1700 to 0500 at Coors and Sequoia and live in Cedar Crest, and ride my x1 tuber as often as I can. I just bought a pair of insulated pants from a nice bloke on Craigslist. Riding anywhere in town is comfortable, try heading up I40 east with a headwind at 0530 when the temp in town ( Coors/Sequoia) is 28 degrees. Brass monkey weather mate- as in its "so cold it would freeze the balls off a brass monkey". If you're lucky enough to head to work at around 2330 you're laughing mate its still floating around 38 degrees, maybe we aussies are a tougher breed. Haha. Heated grips? Next you'll be wanting a heated seat and heated sox, just jump in ya car mate. Me think you just need to harden up a bit just kidding mate. Nice triumph. |

hehe, Yea CJ, I ride in at 1330 hrs and head home around 0300 hrs. You build up a tolerance if you do it long enough. Or have been doing it constantly so the gradual cooling of the season doesn't matter. I have a set of Widder electric gloves for sale if you really need something to keep your fingers warm. I'm going to throw them on Craigslist one of these days... Heated seat? Oh yea! You don't know what your missing until you've sat on one while riding through 25 degree temps... |

LOL! Well, I'm not afraid of a little cold weather. In fact, it's only since I've had this Uly that I've had heated anything. And that's only grips. I have good gear, not heated gear. |

Isnt it funny how you dont realize what you have missed until you have it? I have ridden without heated anything for the longest time now, but I wore heated pants for the first time not too long ago and I dont want to ride without them in sub 30 degree weather anymore lol. |

LOL! Yeah, I agree. Meanwhile, I went ahead and replaced the front brake pads on the Uly today. I'll put some miles on tomorrow to wear them in. I'm off the weekend, then go to overnights starting on Monday. |

Nights are great, gives you time to get shit done during the day. Now that its cold, I'm missing my morning rides up the crest. Got brave and took the Tenere to the motocross track at the end of northern in rio rancho last weekend. Hehe Got some strange looks and a couple guys asked what the hell is that. But i was getting some good air and not bottoming out. This bike is funnnn! We should be getting snow in the peaks soon, so off road will be where it's at. My DRZ is good to go, and I'm going through Kim's Yamaha right now. CJ, you going to get another dirtbike? I just saw a Honda XR400 for $500 on Craigslist. |
