I hope one of you dealer fellers can help me on this one. I have a parts related question. I laid my XB 12R down almost 3 months ago and it has been in the dealership since getting repairs, I just got a call saying that they found the fairing support on the right side that the turn signal bolts to was damaged and needed replaced, but when they tried to order it, it was on back order with no release date. They really seem to be taking their sweetass time getting my bike fixed I am just wondering if this part is truly unavailable or if they are just giving me the business! Thanks

Wow, is it possible that Buddy Stubbs is now servicing Buells? That would be incredibly good news! I'll have to check that out. |

BTW, how much is that thing. I'm gonna need one at some point too, minor collision with an idiot driver a month ago cracked mine out by the turn signal. No need to put me on a list yet, just wanna know for when its time. |

ya know, Buell really amazes me. Can you believe that a part as large and bling bling as that MAGNESIUM fairing support is only 115?!?!? I mean I used to own a suzuki and you'd pay that much for a tail light! I love this company between the cost of parts and the simple design alone its almost enough for me to have bought my bike besides everything else awesome about Buell. I love this company. |

Gave my dealer the numbers and the heads up on Stubbs. They said their computer system was crashed so they hadn't been able to run locater yet but said they would try the dealers. Thanks for the help, I think it really blew 'em away when I came in w/leads from a dealer that was "really into Buells".

UPDATE Dealer called back and left message that the three #'s supplied didn't pan out. Any other leads would be greatly appreciated. Wyckedflesh said: "I did however have to order one and got it in 4 days...Ordered through Arrowhead btw. " I assume Arrowhead HD Arizona?

If the locator shows one is Staten Island, I assure you it is wrong. I have not seen one XB anywhere near NYC. |

Buck.....may I call you "Buck". I am quite familiar with both LiteSpeed and Talon. May I say, unequivocally, that one is as good as the other. Am I the diplomat or what? Frankly, regardless of system...it still boils down to dealer committment. I'd prefer Topeka with a semaphore to a "technically proficient" dealer who lacks Buell enthusiasm. You? . . . hell, I'd give you a big ol' guy hug!

What kills me in this is BStubbs is still showing they have the fairing support in stock...its for an employees bike so why haven't they taken it out of inventory yet? They won't sell it and the amount of attitude I got just asking about it was insane. You would think that would be a clue to maybe get it out of inventory. |

If I followed this thread correctly, $115 for a Buell fairing support sounds like a real deal compared to the $207 for the KTM Adventure S as reported in the March 2004 issue of Cycle World. Combine that with the reported $250.00 oil change compliments to three oil filters and KTM just priced themselves out of my garage. Viva la Buell!!! |
