Can you show how it mounts in front and attaches to the header? Looks great! |

I put one on my M2 with a race header earlier this year and havea brief video on youtube (not great quality but will give you an idea of sound). Just search Buell M2 Drummer It is really well made and while LOUD, it sounds great. I had a Supertrapp and carbon Borla before and this is my favorite so far. I wear ear plugs. |

can you post a picture of it on your M2 with race header? whats the going rate for one? I emailed drummer today and they replied that they are making them, but then i asked price and have not heard yet. I have a supertrapp now... is it really loud compared to that? |

I have never posted a pic here. Pm me and I will try to take and send a pic on the weekend. I call it loud for sure. It is pretty much a stainless canister with some lining material. Straight through. I found the supertrapp produced a drone that was irritating at some speeds. I started wearing plugs with the Drummer but that was also to eliminate some of the wind noise. It sounds great to me now and I have had a ton of compliments on the deep, throaty sound since I installed it. Never had that before. When I crack on the throttle it really sounds amazing. It doesn't set off car alarms and isn't too bad when I idle to and from my house but it isn't for the faint of heart either. I've never heard a D&D to compare it to. For mounting it simply slips over the end of the race header and is clamped. I keep intending to safety wire something at the front to guard against it dropping the front if the clamp failed. The rear mounts are very sturdy. (Message edited by outdoors on November 14, 2012) |

The. Noise or sound would not worry me personally as I am profoundly deaf. But I don't like to wake everyone in the street. If I leave early. Do you think it would be too loud? Also how does it perform? As that would be my main reason to change pipes to go faster. |

It "feels" like it is happier to rev however I have not had it on a dyno. I'm also running stock M2 cams and heads so not sure that it really takes full advantage of the flow of the system. My impression on performance is positive though. Yes it is loud however when idling to and from my house, I find it less noisey that a neighbors diesel pick up. I have not had any complaints. Perhaps Firemanjim can provide a more informed evaluation of the noise level? |

If it sounds anything like the XB Drummers, it should sound damn good. Those sound very built V-8-ish, and aren't too loud at all. The loudest spot seems to always be the rider's seat, anyway. |

"The loudest spot seems to always be the rider's seat, anyway." Maybe you should stop eating Taco Bell before you ride.... |

Kevin has these for the 2.5" race header (if you're lucky enough to have one) and has the J pipe for the pre-99 2.0 inch and 2.5" stock headers (not S2). I ran the prototype on my race-header equipped S1W. Prior to putting it on, I had a supertrapp muffler with an open end cap on that bike. The drummer is louder than that open end cap equipped supertrapp, but not by a whole lot. The tone was a bit crisper/sharper than the supertrapp. It is similar to the D&D or a well packed Buell race muffler. It is not a "5AM next-door neighbor friendly" muffler, but it does sound good, and it's built KD-Fab stout and pretty. We've sold a few since he released them and the customers have all been quite pleased. Al |

Al thanks for that. So it's hard to find factory race 2.5 headers? Is it possible to mount this drummer to the D&D 2.5 header? Thanks |
