Ditch the side stand switch by shorting the wires. It sounds like your neutral switch is dirty and sticking. It's on the right side under the pulley, kind of a drag to get to.. |

You have answered your own question - no spark at the plugs means it won't run. Get a service manual. American Sport Bike is a good source, and the trouble shooting tables in the manual are excellent. The list of things that cause 'no spark' is long, ranging from low batt voltage to a dead ECU. Your case 'Most Likely' involves a safety feature failure, causing the ign portion of the ECU to not ground properly. Finding the problem is a case of methodical checks and elimination. |

Having had some more coffee, a quick check you can do: Get a jumper wire w/alligator clips on the ends. Unplug the neutral light switch at the switch, and use the jumper wire to ground the wire to the bike. Confirm the neutral light is on. Turn the engine over and see if you have spark. (Bike in neutral, sidestand down, clutch lever out.) If you do have spark, the neutral light switch/circuit is the problem. Neutral light switch p/n 33900-99 |
