I figured this would be easier than dealing with the archived original thread! Tomorrow's the day! "Every year Etennuly and I talk the talk to each other about how many miles we have on our bikes... Some months he has more, some months I have a more.... but for the most part, we ride about the same amount of miles every year give or take a few hundred. Last year we both had a case of rider funk and didn't put to many miles on. Hence the reason for this thread. Who will get to talk the most $hit at the end of the year?!?!? Here is the challenge. Lets see who can put the most miles on their bike this season. Start Tuesday, March 20, 2012 End November 10th (Marine Corps Birthday) easy for me to remember what do ya get... nothing or maybe something. One thing for sure. How do you remember this stuff Mike?  59,167 currently. How is that for a suck ass riding season? Damn near 2,000 tire saving miles! I missed four Buell events that I had made plans for this year. Each time one came around this year I was sick, and each one of those was a different aliment, I tested them all this year. That crap is getting old.  How did you fair Mark? | ||

BTW, just for kicks... It was a 235 day span... and we'll call it 7.5 months. Vern pulled 1868 miles, which averages 249 miles per month, or about 8 miles per day. | ||

Start: 22446 Finish: 25344 Total: 2898 Monthly average:386.4 Daily average: 12.33 Nowhere near as much as I had anticipated. I think being in work & school full time has curtailed my riding somewhat! Total mileage for Road Glide and Uly- 127526 Beginning mileage for both bikes- 117654 Mileage so far is 9872 Pretty low for me. This Summer was so brutally hot I didn't commute near as much as usual. Too bad we didn't do this last year which included a 6251 mile trip in three weeks to Newfoundland! | ||

8,297 - those miles pretty evenly split between the DR-Z and the XT. Wish it was more, but that's right around where I expected it to be at the beginning of this thing. | ||

ah dang it... i forgot. the crankshaft on my 08stt failed a few weeks ago and i've disassembled my engine. i wonder if the gauge cluster will still work? i'll try it later today and see.... it did work... 52486 ending mileage. Looking under the original thread and using the original M2 miles (it's been stored under a cover, not tagged)... M2 4801 CR 5875 S1 8379 S2 29330 Uly 27967 76,352. Sad. Zero big trips (only "trip" was MD to NJMP for the race). Zero regional trips. Zero "hey, let's ride this weekend" trips. 7481 miles in a season. Bummer. I need to ride more. If we go on the 7.5 month scale... 995 miles a month. Figuring 235 days... 31.83 miles a day. Blech. I can do better than that. My original post: I don't expect to do anything impressive here, but I am intrigued. Really have no idea what to expect from a season of riding. I sucked... I'll have to turn the key on when I get home... but I'm thinking I barely rode over 2000 miles. Just wasn't in to it for some reason. Was hoping that poking Vern with a riding stick would spark some miles I have been in a funk for a long time and I just can't get out of it.  | ||

Good way for me to track since I usually only write down miles for oil change purposes. In the last couple of months I sold the 01 electra glide and the klr 650 and replaced them with the uly and v-strom 650 so we'll see which bike gets the most action. Unless I add another bike to the stable like "Ratbuell". If a S1,M2,or X1 or the like comes avaiable in my area for a crazy low starvation price well..... Glad to see that you had a good season Mike!  Was hoping that poking Vern with a riding stick would spark some miles That is what you call it now?  Remember, I tried to poke you last! You flat turned me down......however there is still time! My local riding buds have had a hell of a time getting me off my stump to ride all year. Aside from being sick, I suffered from blah, blah, blah as far as riding goes. I'm sure a bit of it had to do with the actual realization that the mothership killed Buell and it's accessory packages that we all loved to be a part of. It is time for an AX to re-light the fire. | ||

2200 on the Uly. 3250 on the KLR. 5450 total,thats a lot for me. Did some really fun weekend trips this year,Exploring dirt roads along the Canadian border on the KLR and Bayfield WS on the Uly. My Uly was new 49 months ago and it only has 15300 miles on it.Should last me a while. | ||

Well, just 515 miles after posting my beginning mileage (104090) I had to remove the engine to investigate/repair a noise. Not done with that yet, but bought a new Bonneville on May 18 to get me to and from work. 7178 miles on it as of this evening for a total of 7693 miles. | ||

Wow,,, this is a interesting Post... On April 3rd, I purchased a Kawasaki KLR 650 new, with 1.2 miles, Mileage for the bike ended at 10120 after returning from Alaska. I also purchased a 2006 Ulysses with 4410 miles, with a end of 21232 on Nov 10 2012. Total miles this so far, 26941.... Wow,, Who would have thought I would cover that much ground... | ||

I work 4 ten hour days so my total commute is less than 16 miles a week and that includes going home for lunch to let the dogs out. I should walk too. From my garage to where I park is 7/10th of a mile. I walk another 2/10ths from the parking lot to my desk. If I used a bicycle, I could ride right up to the front door of my office and get a little cardio at the same time. Alas, I'm too fat and lazy for that. |
