So in EMC spy my tps degree/ percentage will randomly jump around. the degree/ percentage can jump as much as .4 I assume this is not normal. The cables seem to be fine I have replaced the throttle body with a new one, also two new tps sensors and the same problem. It dosent always jump around and the engine does not need to be on for the problem to exhibit itself. Also if I remove the tps sensor from the throttle body i can get the same result. I have uploaded a video showing what I’m talking about: http://youtu.be/RR4pmwgiJwA |

Is the input voltage to the TPS jumping around? |

If you watch the video I posted the degree/ percentage seems to jump around but the voltage dosent seem to. I think I might have seen the voltage bounce around very slightly once but the other values stayed constant. |

You seem to have your hand on the throttle so its hard to tell which change you're talking about. The movement from 6.3 to 6.7 seems normal, the others not. |

So that is normal for the signal to jump .4 while at rest and nobody is touching the throttle? When it is going from 6.3 to 6.7 my hand is not touching the bike. |

there are points where you may have the tps in between those 2 values so with the vibration it changes from one to another, is my point of view. |

ok so new development i just ran the bike and came back hooked it up to emc spy. The tps voltage is jumping around but the percentage and degree values are staying static. Video here: http://youtu.be/FMwxbbAz138 Also the tps voltage wont zero when I do a tps reset it stays at .81 volts. Is that normal? Also the video i previously posted was with the engine OFF so there would be no vibrations. Thanks for all the help guys (Message edited by buell_train on November 10, 2012) (Message edited by buell_train on November 10, 2012) (Message edited by buell_train on November 10, 2012) |

my bike does the same thing sometimes, i WOULD NOT worry about it , if it runs fine then leave it alone. I do not think THAT is a problem at all. Bike sounds good man i like it.. |

"Also the tps voltage wont zero when I do a tps reset it stays at .81 volts. Is that normal?" "zero"ing the TPS is simply recording the offset voltage in the ECM. It interprets that voltage as 'throttle closed', records the offset, and uses that offset to adjust the values returned from the fuel lookup table. |
