By the way, what software do you use to do that kind of manipulation?

Photoshop yes. I will fit a Lithum battery under the swingarm, behind the engine. What Lithium battery is the VERY best? Not going cheap on this monster of a project...

it's your bike, so you can do what you want.

so while you are at it; the swingarm is pretty big and hollow ...
i dunno if you'd wanna chop it open and re-inforce the opening, but it might be a good option.

Shorai has worked fine for me so far but opinions vary. The best is probably the EBR battery but it costs $395 vs. about $170-ish for the Shorai.

+1 on the EBR lithium battery, definitely the BEST option if money is not an object.

I'd argue at this point a lithium batter isn't a bad choice even IF cost is an object. They keep better than lead acid, and don't cost that much more than the oem spec at this point, and certainly not much more than an OEM + battery tender.

Here is the raw under-frame for the oil cooler and forward controls. On the big rear bracket the rear master cylinder will be installed.

Here we are casting a PU foam tank off the sportster tank mold we made previously.

Here is the final result . Using a saw we split the foam tank down the middle to make it fit better to the Buell's wide frame.

Looks like a lot of work, but of the few "fuel in frame" Buell bobbers I've seen, this one looks the best. Nice job!
BTW Anders, did you get your shortened rear shock yet from Works Performance?

Though Im still not sold on that "tank" on the bike, its yours and I respect that youre making the bike your own.

>>> dude, stop trying to make buell look like a sportster.

You're onto something there, DK.
Maybe it's because you can't fit a REALLY powerful motor into a Sportster. So in lieu of a faster Sportster, he's making a slower 1125...

you cant have fast sportsters?
really?
odd, I just saw some sportys this weekend running in the 8's (1/4 mile, headlight, taillight, onboard starter.....pretty much a street bike)

But I agree on making it look like a sportster.
I LOVE sportsters, but the "tanks" lines dont match the lines of the frame, and thats what throws it off for me.

For me, it is the mixture of flowing curves VS straight lines.
I really like where the project is going as a whole, just not into the tank.
And the headlight.

>>> "so in liew of a faster sportster, he's making a slower 1125..."

What makes you think it will be slower? Its mostly asthetic and comfort changes! Most of us here ride Buells because we appreciate the unconventional... if it's not your cup of tea then carry on Dktechguy.... no need to slam the OP here for doing what HE wants to HIS bike!

Personally... i like what you're doing and look forward to seeing the finished product!

Those airscoops just did not flow with anything on the stock bike... and i liked that. Its an oddball to start with anyway. By trimming the pods to a rounder feel and adding the curvy sportsteresque tank fit they together well but they still dont fit the frame. And again i think thats the interesting part of it. Thats why im painting the scoops red. Line a fat bottomed chick in tight jeans. Flaut it and it will become the main attraction. Or like the weird looking headlights on the speed tripple. it kinda works for me that way. I might have an odd taste but i sincerely think that the balance and juxtaposition of curves and straight lines creates a homogenic whole. Its a bastard but a homogenic one in my eyes.
