Finally had a chance to rework the front header on my 1125. Wasn't happy with the near get-off from a stoppie. Found out the tire touched the header on full compression, so I had to revise it slightly.
Figured that was a bad thing, so it got parked for a while. I hadn't been able to work on it due to customer demand. Since I was waiting on some materials that won't show until next week, I finally did some stuff to mine.
Not sure why I did the polishing, it's going to get satin black like the rear header eventually. Took me more time than it was worth to do it.
WOW, what a RUSH!!! I forgot how quick this thing is since I've been riding the xb. Air/fuel looks to be damn close, both cylinders were at 12:1 during WOT. Got into the ”Go straight to jail” speed in the blink of an eye.
44 degrees when I rolled out this morning. Not sure I can do 1600+ miles this weekend for a dyno run or two. Much appreciated offer though, I like beer.
The full system is still under development/testing/tuning. Once it's done, it will be backward compatible with most of the 1125 pipes I've done already. I think it's from about serial #25 on up. If you have an early system and want one, email me.
The brackets might need a little tweaking to make it fit, but it should work with them all. Assuming this is the case, I will be doing just headers for the guys that have a slip-on system already if they want them at a lower cost.
