With a few requests for pix i snapped a few tonight for ya.  Side shot so you can see how far forward and down they are.  Had to drill a hole to put clutch cable threw. Its a tad tight but it was leaking at the crimp by the primary so i ordered a new uly cable for alittle more slack. I still need to install it.   Throttle cable and brake line.  Front shot  HIDs WHAT!!  | ||

Congratulations, very nice! Take care with with brake line on the forks, with time it will damage the fork and brake line (friction between them). | ||

Thanks for the pics. I've been thinking about doing this on my XB. That comment about the brake line might be worth paying attention to. Something as simple as a couple wraps of bicycle innertube held in place with zipties would give protection and would be easy to inspect/replace as wear occurs. | ||

Really im not worried about the brake line. Its not touching the forks its just how it looks in the picture. If you look at the banjo i flipped around compared to stock. (points in vs out) to do this i had to twist the line to get it how i wanted it. No its not bound up or overly tight. | ||

Did you have to modify the CRG Brake lever to keep from locking up the front brakes? | ||

No. I havent had any issues with them at all. They are the new RC2 levers. Is it a common problem or what? (Message edited by rageonthedl on September 27, 2012) | ||

Not an issue on CRGs or Pazzo levers- they are designed properly. Only the cheapo Chinese levers have that issue. | ||

Good i was gonna say the crg levers were $150 at my shop cost vs. The $30 ebay ones. They better not lock up the front wheel! | ||

If you put a tube frame lever/ZTL2 lever on a ZTL (XB) master cylinder, it will lock up the brakes. If you put a ZTL (XB) lever on a ZTL2 or Tuber master cylinder, it won't lock up the brakes, but will flop around a bit a light up your brake light regardless of you applying the brakes. The XB cam is a bit shorter than the Tber/ZTL2 cam. The cheap chinese levers have piston cams that are poorly shaped and don't roll onto the piston correctly as it moves through travel. I suspect they could lockup the ZTL brakes, but probably just give poor feel on the ZTL2 or tubers. |
