I had to take my rear tire to three shops to get it balanced because the axle is too wide for the balancing machines. Finally a yamaha shop that also works on john deer tractors was able to do it. What fun. |

My tire guy had to get a machinist to make the pieces. He said some of the Riceburners have large axles also and needed the same adapters too. edited by kaese on January 22, 2004 |

Yep got my first new rear fitted at my favourite discount tyre shop then balanced at the buell/hd dealer later on when I went in for a new belt.

i could be wrong, but i think the issue is the diamater of the axl rather than the width... your rear tire is no wider than that on a vrod or dyna, but the whole is alot larger, and without the proper spacers, most shops will not be able to do it properly.... |
