Was riding my 05 Blast to work today, had been riding it all summer without issue, and it sputtered a couple of times like it was out of gas though I had half a tank left. Switched to reserve anyway and the bike ran for a couple of seconds then died at the stop sign I was approaching. I rolled it off to the side of the road and began to furiously dismantle, hoping for an easy fix so I could get to work on time. No such luck.
When I first started working on it the bike would run with starting fluid sprayed into the air intake, but would then die. I'm getting gas to the carburetor and I just got done cleaning the carb out and spraying out all the nooks and crannies. Now the bike won't run even with starter sprayed in.
I've hooked it up to a car battery and am getting strong turn over, but no running. I'm hearing a kind of whooshing noise, for lack of a more technical description, while it turns over that I don't recall hearing before.
Don't know what to do from here. I replaced the boot last summer and I didn't see any cracks in the new one. Please help, must work so I can buy more motorcycles! |

That is really weird! I had an 03 Blast as my first bike, and never really had any large problems. How about your electrical system? Spark plug/wire? Also any chance you could check your head compression? |

Same Problem here. Just died at the stop sign and wouldn't crank back up. Good on gas, good on oil. Bike just said no. After pushing it back home, it fired up. Turned it off and now won't start again.
Any help appreciated!!! |

How are the spark plug/wire? Sounds like an issue while warm Aflyingman... usually narrows it down a lot. |

was the bike dropped at all? try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes. if that doesn't help check spark at the plug and make sure the petcock is supplying gas |

Sounds to me that you have lost cylinder compression. Do a compression check, could be a burnt valve or stuck rings. |
