Thank you. I re-set the "idle set point axis" from 1800rpm down to 1300rpm and smoothed the points in between a little as well. The idle used to zoom up to 2000rpm on starting, which seems a bit high to me, and would make for a lot of vibration. It now only goes to 1500rpm and makes for a much smoother start up idle. I adjusted the throttle cable slack for better pick up as well. The bike has gone from a all round road/tourer to that PLUS a much faster rip roaring sub 120mph muscle/sports bike. So now it does everything without any problems. The acceleration control is just great. The whole bike has come "alive" now. |

Looks like the parameters between our 2 ecm's are a little different? Your "idle set point axis" appears to equal my "idle maximum engine speed", which i changed from 1900 to 1700 rpm. I wanted to lower warm-up idle a bit to keep the noise down. It makes a big difference and keeps my neighbor happy. I'm still chasing the ever elusive smooth idle though... not sure if its fuel or timing between the 2 cylinders. I compared my acceleration enrichment table to yours. Here's what mine looks like: %----RPM 200--800 140--1200 35----2500 15----5000 ....but what does it mean? 200% at 800 rpm? Might make sense to others, but where do these percentages come from? does it mean 200% more fuel then the fuel map? and of course after i changed my idle maximum engine speed to 1700.... my bike promptly moved to 2500 rpm after a warm start just out of spite... I don't get it. (Message edited by spacecapsule1 on September 04, 2012) |

It depends on what you mean by a smooth idle on this bike. It should be fairly stable with only the odd glitch. You should have no slow riding problems either but you will get some vibs still. If the idle is jumping about all over the place then thats not right. Its NEVER going to be like a Jap four though. " what does it mean? 200% at 800 rpm?" I think, but not sure, that 100% is 0% so 200% is 100%. Like a AVF zero is 100%. |

Reset the AVF to 100% tonight and tried a logged run but it did not get all the data. Bike seamed to ride sightly smoother, same big power through the rev range (110 mph easy) but with a minor changed can tone. Yes I know what is going to be said but I listen to my bikes? |

Ok so the AFV, sorry, was re-set to 100%. Its now at 90% and it runs at 99.60% most of the time over the last 400 miles. Mostly highway at 80 mph up to 110 mph. 46 mpg average on a UK gallon (4.52L) on 95 RON BP fuel. Tried to go slower but I, and the bike, like to go faster. The 1500 rpm idle is nice. Keep it at 2000 rpm plus and it has few vibs. It will cruise at 80 mph all day long and it feels easy doing it. Drop it down to 4th and it will zoom up to 110 mph easy. |
