1995 S2 Thunderbolt.Ice White Pearl.Runs great.20,774 miles.Has "T" bars, Vance&Hines and Wave rotor.Recent fork service by Traxxion Dynamics.Dunlops have great tread but are date coded '04,so you wouldn't want to go rail Wolf Pen Gap on them. The paint has some chips around the headlight,on the right side of the faring and where screws where removed and reinstalled in the bodywork. There are also bubbles smaller than 1/8" on the tail and faring.I've tried to show the paint issues in the pics.I would like $2800 See pics here:http://s1120.photobucket.com/albums/l500/buellish1 /95%20S2%20Thunderbolt/ |

grrr.....verrrry tempting....any signature series stuff with it? Original signals/heat shield/muffler? Or is it "whatcha see is what I got"? Very nice looking S2. Very tempting (he says, as if he needs another). |

Rat,whats there is what you get.I've only had Signature Series bits with one S2 out of the four S2's/S2T's I've owned. |

Wise move. Unless 2800 bucks is going to keep you out of jail it would be better to just mothball it if the cost of riding is an issue. Go out and compare what 2800 will buy you and you will find many lesser bikes. |

Wise move. Even if it gets parted out? Someone had to ask... 1313 |

I didn't see any mention of parting out, just a removal from the market, as in, "not for sale at this time". |

I have faith. He owns multiple S2's...doubt it'd go on the chopping block. |

Ok,here's my dilemma.I've been out of work for four years and am on disability which doesn't cover all my expenses. I have three bikes,my S2T which I had planned to keep, has a short which makes it unrideable.I've been so busy painting my house that I haven't had time to troubleshoot it.An'04 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport, which is the only rideable bike I have,And the S2.I bought the S2 from a friend two years ago, knowing it had a trans problem.I thought it would be an easy fix.It wasn't.For a year and a half I tried different things to fix it,searched the board for similar problems, talked to the local experts, tried everyone's suggestions.,to no avail. I finally installed a trans from a '99 X1 and thought I had it fixed, but it doesn't always go into third cleanly.I didn't realize it was doing this until after I listed it for sale. It has another problem. It vibrates more than any Buell I've ridden. It's kind of a high frequency vibration. You feel it in the seat where it runs up the tank cover and in the tank cover where you squeeze it with your knees. Again I've tried different things, had a local tech ride it and haven't been able to find the cause.I replaced the isolators and though it seemed to help,it still vibrates.I have read on the board that the new front isolator causes more vibration than the old style.I had thought these two problems were fixed by the replacement trans (although this could be the shift pawl adjustment) and the new isolators.I road it after I listed it and realised that I couldn't sell it as a problem free bike. I don't have any interest in continuing to try to fix this bike,I'm done. Two years is enough.Problem is,know one will give me anything for a bike with problems.Hell nobody wants it if it doesn't have problems. What am I to do. I've been selling parts to help make ends meet but up to now it's been bikes that where not in great shape or had bad engines. I'm an S2 guy.I've had two S2's and two S2T's.I've got over 100,000 miles on S2's.Not as many as some of you I know but I love S2's.I love the way they ride, love the way they look and love the way they make me feel. But I don't love this bike,I just want it to go away. I emailed 1313 and S2pengy and told them this because they are S2 people and good friends and I value their opinion.Brankin posted what he did above and it pissed me off because he was stirring the pot when I hadn't completely made up my mind to do this.I sent him an email and said some things I shouldn't have.He didn't deserve what I said. But I guess since you are all involved now I would like to know what you think. |

I say, in the end it's your bike and if parts is what its worth then parts it should be. The good news is those parts couldn't go to a better place then to guys on here keeping other S2's running. Desperate times call for desperate measures and I think we've all hit a problem bike in our lives that just didn't want to play by the rules and run well. Good luck with whatever you choose, whether she goes in one piece or in a hundred im sure something good will come of it. |

Why not pop the engine out of the s2t and put it in the s2. If that works, sell the guzzi and save the s2t for your own personal parts bike. You will still have both bikes in your possession so it won't be like parting one out. The guzzi is going to be the easiest to sell. |

I've got a Guzzi - '02 V11 LeMans. I would have a REAL hard time convincing myself to sell it - ever. It's got it's own pile of quirks and character that make it lovable - much like a Buell... With that said, I've managed to end up with 5 Buell's and only now have the 1 Guzzi. |

I hope to never have to sell the Guzzi again.I sold it to my friend Joe a couple of years ago when I got in a bind, then when I sold the S1W and the Cyclone I bought it back. I had wanted a Guzzi before I discovered Buells back in 2000.As Swamp2 says above, they have tons of character. The Ballabio handles great, has style in spades and makes me grin like the Buell. |

hey, as long as were on the topic, I just bought a Moto Guzzi 2000 v11 sport. I bought it in Minneapolis, flew in, picked it up and spent three days riding home, its a great bike, perfect in the sense of soul and eclectic flavor. its my second Goose, three tubers and two Guzzis. had a great ride home on it, weather was perfect, the bike was perfect, tons of fun! its now parked next to my 1997 Moto guzzi 1100 sport.... these things are definitely as much fun as a tuber Buell. Ok sorry for the tangent here, just saw the Goose notes and HAD to chime in! Hope your able to sell the bike and get through the tough times youre facing...good luck! I had a buddy with a bike (HD) yeah I know, sour words here, anyway, that thing was possessed!!!! he could not get it running right and I swear more weird stuff than not happened to that bike....he finally let it go after a tree fell through his roof and did some damage to that one bike in his garage, no damage to the other three....Im telling ya possessed, so he finally sold it and a week later I saw it beat up in a shop...the new owner wrecked it within a week. so maybe you got the demon s2, or maybe someone has the passion to sort it out, or maybe someone needs the parts more than you need the bike.... do what you need to and good luck! |

its your bike, do what you want with it.... parting would be a shame. i threatened to do it to mine as i needed the money but was able to hold out and sell it to someone that will ride it as intended... maybe keep it up for sale for what you want for it with known issues... its not that bad, some vibes could be coming from many different places, prolly something simple. ive fixed vibe issues with timing as well as carb tuning.... someone wants it. put it back up for sale whole before parting it. just my opinion... you asked |
