ok was riding my bike today and it started cutting out then died then it wouldnt start waited on my brother to pick me up when he got there it started so i hopped on it and rode it then started doingit again any suggestion |

Connections to new ECM? The pins sometimes slip out of position and connect intermittently. Coil wires sometimes short to the frame, examine them for bald spots in the insulation. |

Definitely check the plug wires, and battery connections. Sometimes the connection in the wires will creep up, and get a bad connection. But if it is warm when it does it, wires make sense. |

Mine was the power wires to the coil came loose (not off, just loose) and I put a slight crimp on them to hold them on. But then again your problem could be as varied as the sand on a beach. A lot of good points are all ready listed above. Intermittent loss is always a pain in the? |

I had the same thing Buell_Bert mentioned on my M2. The cap was there, but not snapped down.
The coil check is documented in the service manual. Generally, you look for a fixed low resistance across the primary and secondary windings. |

I know on the 03 and later Bells you want 0.5 Ohms on the primary (pins one and three) and 5.5 to 7.5 Ohms between the contacts the plug wires attach to. |

Got a 2001 cyclone. It is making a loud ticking noise it goes away for a bit after its set over night but when I go or a ride it gets louder and louder an wont go away. It sounded like a literature first so I pulled it apart found one collapsed lifter I orders new one let them soak for about 8 hours put it all back together and it's still doing the same thing. The timing on it is good. It runs fine no loss I power or anything just a real loud ticking noise. Was thinking a bad oil pump or clogged line. Please help Im at my wits end. |

You replaced just one lifter? That may be your issue. If they're all okay, look to the push rods. Roll them on a mirror to check for straightness. |
