It's worth mentioning that the rear-preload adjusters on these bikes seem lose some of their range of preload as the bikes get older. When new, the adjuster takes about 4 turns before any resistance is felt; this varies from bike to bike. As the bike gets older, it may take 6 or more turns before resistance is felt. Because of that, you may need to add more rear preload than the above recommendations. As to the cause of this we're not sure whether the oil gradually seeps out past the seals or whether the rear spring starts to sag with age. It is possible to add more oil to the adjuster to correct this; here are a couple of threads on the subject: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/690462.html?1345387719 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/626029.html |

nothing is said about setting sag, don't you have to set before adjusting suspension? or is that the factory estimate to get sag right? |
