My 98 S3T is slowly coming together but my headlight is cracked. Does any one know if there is anything in the auto world that will fit? Something in glass perhaps?

I'm not sure if the mounting is the same in your headlight bucket as the new lens are in the new buckets.

Best bet would be to call Al and Joanne first at American Sport Bike and if that doesn't solve your issue, take your bucket down to your HD dealer and see if the new lens will fit.

Kawasaki atv light can be adapted to work very easily. Big plus is it is glass and can change the bulbs to what ever light and color you want!

I put an upgraded Hella light, with a replaceable H3 bulb, in my S2. Got it from AutoAnything.com. Glass. Get the "E-code" light, it has a better beam spread. Simply measure your light, it's an automotive headlight anyway.

Rat, everything I've found for the hella e-code shows it as a round bulb, and I didn't find it at all on autoanything... Did you get it in the stock s2/s3 rectangle size?

S2 is larger than an S3...but yes, stock and square.

Wait one...

AutoAnything doesn't appear to have them anymore...but they show on JC Witless:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/vision-plus-conversion-he adlamps/p2021584.jcwx

You want the one for a 2-headlight system, so it has both high and low beam reflectors.

Doublecheck your measurements - IIRC the S2 has the common 7" / 200mm size, and the S3 uses a smaller unit.

Sorry if I'm hijacking Bgbrd....This is what JC Whitny shows for a 99 S3- SKU #: 1JA 574300 (on clearance for $41.95).
Rat or Jr, does this look like the right one/size??

get a headlight protector so your new one doesn't get cracked! I got mine from Al at American Sport Bike. I switched out my whole headlight assembly and pigtail wiring as mine had a short somewhere in the wiring and a cracked light from a rock chip.

Not correct. You want one that says "beam - hi/lo". a "beam - high beam" is for a four-headlight car.

Try looking up 1987 Dodge Shadow. I think they may be the same size...and are definitely a 2 light car (hi/low in the same housing). I know my Shadow's lights are smaller than my Jeep's, and my Jeep's lights fit my S2.

Buell liked to grab stuff from the Europeans for his older bikes.
I wouldn't be surprised if that light was either Ducati Guzzi or BMW.

For example, I hear that my 2000 X1 headlight was a BMW part.
While it was still available, it was actually cheaper for BMW people to buy them from H-D than their own dealers : )
I always thought that was funny as hell.

I was looking at a Yamaha TW 200 trail bike that we use for our PAMSP training bike and found it's headlight is the same size as my S3. Not sure of the mounting but can probably fabricate to fit . It has an H-4 bulb and is glass. Will check it at night to se the beam and if it is OK will order one to try out.
