I'm riding from my home in Fernley, NV to SLUT (Salt Lake, Utah) to fight this BS traffic ticket I got there. I have court at 9am tomorrow. The plan is to be on the road by 9 tonight, ride till midnight, sleep a few hours at truckstop then ride the rest of the way in, go to court then ride home. I think my rear tire has 1000 miles left in it. Hopefully I don't have to buy a tire in utah. |

If you show up in court looking like hell, they will judge you before you're even allowed to speak. Also good luck! |

Well dude, two things: (1) You should register and get a Saddlesore 1000 certificate from the IBA; more info here: http://www.ironbutt.com/ridecerts/getdocument.cfm? DocId=1 (2) Speedweek is this week at Bonneville and you'll be riding right by it! (closest town is Wendover, NV). If you've never been it's well worth the stop. I went to the World Finals there in October a couple of years ago and it was AWESOME. |

Good luck and don't get a speeding ticket on the way. |

Cripes, that must be a hell of an expensive ticket to go through all that. The HD dealer in Sandy may still be a Buell dealer if you need help/rubber. |

Hughlysses- I'll look into the saddlesore 1000. I stopped in at Bonneville in 2003. It was pretty cool. It's really not an expensive ticket, like $65 or $85, can't remember exactly. It's more about the points. I'm a truck driver, and every little thing counts against my license, so I have to protect that. Plus it's a class c misdemeanor and I don't want a criminal record. All I did was accidentally use an entrance ramp for the freeway that was for the carpool lane. I got out of the carpool lane right away, but a cop saw me. It was not marked very well, and according to the clerk at the court lots of people make that mistake. I'm sure they don't fix it because they like the revenue it generates. |

A class C misdemeanor for using the wrong lane. And people ask me why I moved out of Utah... |

This reminds me of a time about 20 years ago, when I canceled a cellphone account. I was told by the customer service rep, that I was squared away. A week later I get a bill for $0.01. I ignored it, but the bills kept coming. Month after month. They wanted their $0.01. After they spent about $10 in postage, I mailed them a check written in the amount of $0.01. They were whole again. |

JK651 tell them that many states, like MN, allow motorcycles in the car pool lanes/ramps. Unless you're a UT resident you've got a good case for ignorance. |

Nevermind. I got screwed on my way home from California. I didn't get home until almost 10:30 tonight. That just didn't leave enough time to get enough sleep to make the trip safely. I worked 16hrs and 45 minutes today. I think I needed more than and hour and a half of sleep. I'll have to call the court in the morning and explain. Hopefully I can reschedule. |

You should have sent them a check for $0.02. Then they would have spent more issuing you a check for the remittance. |
