Can anyone provide a list of tasks/procedures required to change the fork oil on the XB series bikes? Any special tools required? It's supposed to be cold and rainy this weekend, and lord know's I'm a little overdue to service this since 14k is showing on the odo. Oh, BTW, can anyone recommend a quality oil I can get locally? What's the oil spec? I ain't driving the 150 miles round trip to get the HD/Buell stuff. I would if it were closer... Thanks a bunch! Yea I know... I need a manual. Jody |

Get that manual. The fork oil change looks like a bear. You have to remove the forks from the bike. Manual calls for a FORK SPRING COMRESSING TOOL and a FORK TUBE HOLDER. You need TYPE E FORK OIL. It looks like 14 oz. per fork. I would not recommend doing this without the manual, as it has handy diagrams and, you know, instructions (in more detail than I care to type! ) Good Luck! (off to put on a new rear Diablo this morning myself) |

Thanks Chainsaw. Guess I won't be doing that today take the fork tubes off to change the fork oil? I've never heard of such. But then again, I never had a bike w/inverted forks I guess. Thanks again. Jody |
