Had a 17+ volt spike last night and blew both headlights. Does this bike use H7's? The stock bulbs aren't hid's are they? BTW its an 09 cr. |

Run of the mill H7 bulbs from any auto parts store. a 17+ volt spike often means your voltage regulator is failing. |

Thanks Foggy, yeh I wasnt sure if it was the regulator, faulty ground or the relay. Visual inspection doesnt reveal anything. Where is the ground I keep reading about by the swingarm. I dont see anything? HD has two regulators instock so I guess Ill get one. Should probably get both since Im planning on a trip to Indy this weekend. |

Ok got the regulator from HD and I installed it. That was a chore. Nice Ducati regulator though. HD didnt have the relay so I used the old one. It didnt have any visual defects at all. New headlight bulbs. 10 minute ride and it held 14 volts the whole time. Ill see if I make it home from work tonight. Fingers crossed. I really wish I could get more riding time on it before I make the trip to Indy. I was thinking about removing the passenger [eg and mounting the regulator there. Seems like a good spot if you dint ride two up. (Message edited by figorvonbuellingham on August 15, 2012) |
