So I just noticed my clutch cover is leaking some fluid very slowly. Has anyone had this issue with a 2009 model? |

Yes on my CR. Dealer covered it under warranty when it happened. It's a known issue, but I personally can't give you any specifics on the parts and whatnot until I return home in 3 weeks. |

Yes a common issue, rotate the puck, weep hole on top, and monitor fluid levels until it is fixed properly... DIY kits are available (not sure who still has them readily available now) or have the dealer repair the leak if it is still under warranty. |

Assuming that you're on the American continent, if you want a DIY fix then you'll want to order one of these when they become available again - http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/models/1125cr /ebr-clutch-actuator-cylinder-kit.html If you're in Europe then how about the oberon option - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBERON-BILLET-BUELL-1125 -CLUTCH-SLAVE-CYLINDER-BLACK-/160861501981?pt=UK_M otorcycle_Parts&hash=item257417ba1d |

I installed the EBR kit a few weeks back. It was a fairly simple job. Keep in mind that the EBR kit does not include the sleeve external o-rings and the o-ring on the conical nut. Make sure you pick new ones up before changing. Clutch works great after the change. |

I detailed a temporary fix here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/689346.html?1344266723 If you want to ride the bike while waiting for parts. |

One stupid think I done. I received the oberon clutch kit and unpacked it. But it felt on a floor from 1m height. It doesn't seems to have any injuries, but is it possible that it could be bended now, but I can't see it. And is there any chance that it's not good anymore? Thanks for the answers. |

What tools do I need to complete this? in the manual it says to use the special "tool" It looks like all I need is a 17mm open wrench and a hex key correct? I also popped off my clutch cover just to take a look underneath and it looks like my spherical nut has rust spots all over the outer side of it.. Does it need to be replaced? or is it okay? I am unsure of the condition on the inside What size O rings will I need other than the ones that are not supplied in the EBR kit |

You'll need a 17mm deep socket and some way of holding it so you can pass the Allen key down the centre of it. I milled 2 flats on my socket, but you can probably get away with holding it with Mole Grips (ugh...bodgers tools) or something similar. |

If you haven't seen it, one fellow badwebber posted this helpful video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCEetGIc9ks Be careful not to overtighten the bleeder valve. I did and couldn't get it to stop leaking, although it sealed itself up after a week. One other thing I ran into was my C-clip tool was pretty flimsy, which made the C-clip removal difficult. When I did this job a few months ago and EBR's kit did not include the rubber O-rings for the cylinder, I contacted them about it. They said they were out of stock but they reuse the O-rings on the 1190. I'm not sure if I believe that but I reused the old cylinder's O-rings and it seems to be working fine. All in all, it wasn't a bad job. Good luck! |

Crowley I think you are referring to what we call Vise-Grips on this side of the pond. Z |

That kit, X2086.1AM is the HD fix. It does work. Both the EBR unit and the Oberon are better, but Loretta had the weep and this kit fixed it 2 years ago, still dry under the puck, 28k miles. Just my 2¢ Z |

ok so I just purchased and installed my EBR clutch piston. Question is.. Is it suppose to be a much stiffer/ heavier pull compared to the stock? It seems like I would need almost twice the strength to pull in the clutch. Another thing is that now when I pull in my clutch, I would hear air being forced out form the little breather hole on the left side of the clutch cover. I cant recall if I was able to hear this before and if its normal or not. (Message edited by bartone on October 11, 2012) |
