BTW... before I come over to help some more... can you get some Blvd Brewery Unfiltered Wheat beer and some limes and Corona? I'll bring the M&Ms... Thunder... The info at the top of the KC MOB thread related to KC Central BRAG Club still indicated the 2nd Thursday... is that change in the works to correct which Thursday for 2004? EVERYBODY... REMEMBER... the drawing for the Tippin's pie certificate will be at Thursdays meeting... Can't win if ya ain't there!!!! | ||

Paul, I found the emergency stop button. Charles, Don't look at me funny you've got one too! That is a flywheel from an XB laying flat with needle bearing parts scattered all over it. Yours probably looks a little different. I took that pic right after we pressed the crank out of the case. A bearing failure like this could be either a circulation problem with regards to oiling the crank or a failure of the clip retaining that particular bearing. Everyone needs to realize that this is a tired old motor with some shiny new parts in it! that bearing had 20k miles on it and as unusual as the case may be, it is certainly not unheard of for a bearing like that to experience an early demise. That being said, I am still looking for an explanation myself as to whether or not I have an oil/oil pump issue to work out. I got no trouble light before this happened. It easily could have been something like a primary chain being too tight....I may never know. However, I have some individuals with an interest in determining what happened and together we may know soon. I will share with you guys what I learn......Because I know misery loves company, right? Bill, thank you for all your help, and "select" tools last night. I never would have gotten the flywheel out of the case without the late-night trip to your shop. Tell your wife I'm sorry for keeping you out so late. | ||
