Aaaand this is why I kept it on the down low. Now I feel like crap. Sorry guys. (Yes it was at ADF Downtown) Let me make it up to you... come to my motorcycle cookout on August 7th |

and this is part of the reason i got rid of my cr.... that sucks mike, after two failed rebuilds don't you think one part number would be the fix? engine assembly #-----! ohbuellman, get your bike out of there! changing stator can't be that hard, someone here can prob get you the tool, or ebr maybe? have a service manual? |

Mike: I see absolutely no reason for you to feel "like crap." This is EXACTLY what discussion boards are useful for--exchanging information amongst a broadly distributed group. I have been holding off on any commentary about ADF until I saw what they got back to me and when they got it back. The eternal optimist in me is still hoping for the best. Nuke: I think I am in too deep to pull out now (I want to make additional comment, but will refrain). If it were just the stator, I would have done that myself. The rotor however requires a special tool to remove and install the nut that fastens it to the engine. To boot, it requires 300 ft-lbs of torque, making me short two tools. The 1125s have experienced a lot of stator failure from getting over heated (long thread on 1125 board) and EBR provided a re-machined version that permits it to be oil cooled, allegedly minimizing the problem. Upshot: I have to hold my breadth and hope for the best. |

Well, I know I don't have to feel like crap, but I just assume that if you're on this forum, it's because you like your Buell. And for me to come in here spreading my story of disappointment, just feels like I'm pissing in your Wheaties. Doesn't help that this is the most action this thread has seen in... Months? Years? |

You can easily rig up an accurate 300 ft/lb torque wrench using a $15 2ft breaker bar and a tape measure, so don't let that part of it stop you. Sorry to hear that Mike, What a mess. |

Maybe we've pissed in _your_ Wheaties? Sorry. I've still got quite a few payments to make on the R. I absolutely positively love that bike. The repair time/cost business just gets me down sometimes... |

Not pissing in my wheaties. If the thing was just randomly falling apart I would be worried. In your case it was someone just plain not giving a $hit about you or your bike to fix it right. You did everything right and there should never have been an issue after your first visit. |

You are exactly right... But I still hate being the negative one around this board (I've always loved the positive vibes on Badweb). Regardless, this discussion has given me motivation to call HD Customer Care again, and I got through to an EXTREMELY helpful 'Tammy'. They never got my report, but I spent almost an hour on the phone with her, and she's going to bat for me. Calling the dealership as we speak! Fingers crossed! Now more importantly, anyone get out and ride over the weekend? It was just about perfect weather. |

That's a nice compact CCW Mark! I got out and rode this weekend. Rode up to Woodbury with a couple friends to do some shooting on Saturday, then repeated the trip but via different roads on Sunday with my wife. And as usual -- wifey beat me shooting! LOL |

Yuppers...out near Roscoe Village / Coshocton off 541. What a great range compared to the Delaware ODNR range, and waaaay cheaper then Blackwing. Plus, the ride out there and back is great once you get out of Franklin & Delaware counties. Lots of twisty routes to choose from! For instance, here's the route we took on Saturday (the way back was boring due to one of my buddies having to rush back for a dinner reservation). Sunday's route with the wife was much more fun, but I forgot to turn on my GPS tracker to know what roads I took...doh. Good luck on your quals Pete! Hope you don't get too wet out there today. :-) |

Yeah it's a great range. We used to use Delaware since it is so close, but started coming here when we got our rifles so we could get out a little farther. |

Shouldn't they be reversed? Right now the devil is on the nice low RPM's, while the Angel is sitting on the triple digit speeds!

Yes! COOKOUT! Tuesday August 7th I suppose the easiest thing to do is say it's an optional pot-luck; if you want to make/bring something, cool! If you don't/can't, no problem at all, come and enjoy! 1933 Brandigen Ln Columbus, OH 43228 I'm shooting for meat to be done around 7pm, but show up early, it's all good! See you all then! |

That, my friends, is a somewhat blurry picture of 5 pounds of pork tenderloin, coated in rub, and wrapped in 2 pounds of bacon. Also, if you're easily able to throw a camping chair of some sort on the back of your ride, it would probably be beneficial! If not, no problem! |
