Was wondering if anyone here has one and also what would be a market price for one. |

And I'm pretty sure Erik owns one of them. |

Yeah, I remember reading about how some of the employees restored it for him. |

The one pictured here was assembled from pieces dug out of the buildings and basement of the farmhouse lived in back in day. A group of old timers got together and pieced it together. I had a bunch of photos of these from races and out in barn so the guys were able to have a target for how it should look. Tracking down all the period decals was quite a task but they pulled it off. The engine may be an 850cc version out of the race car. The other one, the first "production" bike was bought back from the Machinists Union guy but I don't know who actually bought it. Erik or Buell Motorcycles so I don't know who owns it today. Erik certainly owns this bike and i hope he owns the other one. |

I have 3 packages of prints (pre digital days) of the day Dano and the guys presented the RW750 to Erik on stage at the Milwaukee Raceway. One of the 3 times I've seen him cry. He was, to say the least, stunned. The real story . . . is the people behind the bike. When you start to learn about the Dave Gess's, TA's, Dano's, Brankin's, Kelly's and DaveU's . . . you start to see the mental and emotional firepower that had propelled Erik. You won't get details for a while . . .but there is a quiet revolution currently underway as the "band gets back together" . . .but. . you may or may not take my word . . decide for yourself . . . the most amazing Buell stories every are currently being written. |

"band gets back together" I can't help but picture Erik with those cheap black sunglasses cruising around in a beat up panel van picking up folks for "the band". |

Thanks for the info. I had started thinking about it after realizing that the RW750 was on the list of Old School bikes at the forum header, but I could not recall ever seeing a post about one trading hands. The RSS thread got me to wondering why, and now I know that it is because they were built from that extremely rare substance known to all bike restorers, unobtainium. |

>>> in a beat up panel van picking up folks for "the band". Ohhhhhh . . . and some of the players that have passed on great paying, 40 hour a week gigs to jump back on board are going to amaze. This is going to be good . . . VERY GOOD. |

I was just reading an article about the 1190RS and it is being compared to some of the best (Italian) sportbikes out there. So the magic touch is already at works. |

>>> in a beat up panel van picking up folks for "the band". My goodness! Buell flashback that, unfortunately, only Dave Gess and maybe Court will get... The statement above brought back memories of the crappy, old, beat up Chevy van - the company van - from the days on Jefferson Street in Mukwonago. That van was a piece of work... 1313 |

Yes it was. We were standing outside the Amsoil/Hero/EBR big rig talking we Erik and a few folks and I said something about looking at the rig and flashing back to those old vans Erik drove to the races. Man did he light up, talking about vague, to be kind, steering and lousy brakes. Fun to talk about those old days with the 18 wheeler and a full crew of folks doing the work behind him. Not so much fun on no sleep and no money cool to remember. |
