Hi, I'm rebuilding what I believe to be a 1997 S3 engine. Can anyone date the engine for me? *FS56V120XXX*

Interesting tit-bit:- lower fairing extensions for better wind protection to the rider's legs.

My 1997-1998 S3/S3T service manual identifies it as the engine for a California-spec 1997 S3T. The engine would be the same for a 49 State-spec 1997 S3T as the main difference between 49 State and Cali was the carbon canister and additional tubing for said canister.

I concur with 1313. Just got home to late to answer first. ; )

When 1313 said tubing he meant rubber tubing to plump the canister to the transmission vent, gas tank, and air filter.
